This 1860s bed and breakfast offers an inviting alternative, should you desire a change from the traditional hotel stay. It offers guests, comfortable accommodations while also giving them a taste of the Lemp family's haunting history. Each room has a tale of its own, making this an exciting, if also eerie, place to stay. The Lemp family's original furnishings remain in the mansion today. If you are looking for some real excitement choose to stay on a Friday or Saturday night and participate in the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater.
rooms were freezing cold, should have slept in hallway.
"breakfast" was a few bags of mini muffins, and cranapple juice, a few granola bars and stale coffee with a mr. coffee maker in your room. for $205 a night, i dont think so.
I have never been to The Lemp Mansion for Halloween before, so I decided for $45,open bar and food, wasn't a bad deal at all. The food was mostly finger food, but it wasn't bad. It was also spread out in different parts of the Mansion, so it was easier to get to. However, there were too many tickets sold. Everywhere or room you would try to enter had a line as well as people shoulder to shoulder. I understand the idea to make a buck, but they oversold it to the point where no one could comfortably enjoy themselves.
My wife and I stayed at the Lemp Mansion for my 29th birthday. We had planned a romantic getaway. We booked the Lavender Suite which is the nicest and biggest room in the mansion. When we got to the room the first thing I did was turn on the television. I was SHOCKED to see that they didn't have cable. I don't know if it's me or not, but I expect cable television in a room that I'm being charged $205 a night. I just have to watch Sportscenter before going to bed. We reported the issue to management, but we were brushed off. I think maybe twenty or thirty years ago cable in a room was considered a luxury, but in the 21st century it's not. I was stuck with 7 local channels which all had a lot of static. The room was very clean and came with a little basket of snacks and two small containers of wine. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was nice too! Some advice: The Lavender suite overlooks interstate 55 so there was some highway noise. If noise would be an issue to you I would recommend the Charles Lemp Room which is on the other side of the house and overlooks the garden. The Charles Lemp room doesn't have it's own bathroom though...
