A nightmare that would match Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds." Ants infested our room, along with mosquitos. The shaving kit left on glass shelf in the bathroom overnight had to be emptied in order to rid it of the ants. Even the remote control for the television had ants crawling on it. Dust around the edge of the leather chairs was too think to just wipe off. Only comfortable item in the room was the bed. The floor felt like it would buckle when you walked on it. We had The Library room which was located off of the reception area. No noise problem... just filth and bugs. To top it off a slug (looked like just a black spot on the ceiling at first) moved around the room and during the night it decended the wall over our bed. Milk in the refrigerator shared by other residents expired on the 21st... we stayed there the 26-27th. And the majority of the dishes and cups were dirty and sitting in the dishwasher. No staff member was around when we departed as they live off sight and left the evening prior around 9:00 p.m. And.... a dead bird on the patio as we departed the building totally completed the nightmare stay. A definite no to those that are considering staying here.
Cute looks are decieving. I've stayed here twice. The first time was pleasant. The second was uncomfortable to say the least. Its always cold in the comon area. Half of our room smelled funny. The power went out in the morning and the staff didn't bat an eyelash. When we asked the only girl working about the outage she shrugged her shoulders and said "thats Bodega Bay for you". Yet, she didn't ask if we were ok, or if she could do anything. No flashlight or extra blanket was offered, even though it was rainy, and there was no window in the bathroom. So we were left stranded with no shower, hot coffee, breakfast, heat or light to pack up by.
Before we left we tried to find the girl again, but she was no where to be found and she was the only one on duty. To leave your guests stranded like that and no presence in such a situation is poor management to say the least. And then not to offer any compensation is just bad bussiness. I paid for a stay with a shower, heat and breakfast, yet when that was not delivered, they didn't try to rectify the situation.
When I wrote an email to express my concerns, alll I got back were some flimsy excuses about power outages happening all the time. And a flimsy offer of 20% off my next stay. Why would I ever want to stay in such a place again???
If its a common occurence, why don't they have a better system in place to take care of their paying customers?
Needless to say, I left feeling frustrated and ripped off.
