Historical Luxury

Although the White Lace Inn is in the center of town, once you go down the drive to the houses, it is like going back in time. It is quiet with nice grounds, patios and porches. There are two houses, one slightly smaller but a twin to the first, and a carriage house, all with luxurious furnishings and antiques. Whether you want a romantic stay for two, or a small conference location, (there are comfortable, yet sophisticated conference rooms in the basement areas), this is a wonderful place to stay.
These homes are a tribute to an era long gone. These homes were built by one of the first leaders of the coal-mining industry in Illinois. Each room is has all the modern convieniences, yet is so cozy and comfortable, you almost don't want to leave it.
The breakfast we had was wonderful too!
