Our stay at the lodge
By ,
We took our three grandsons to the lodge who are 12, 10 and 6. Big hit with them. We stayed in the Grizzly Bear suite - quite expensive - but for two families it worked out well. Was disappointed in the noise at night in the hallways. I complained to the front desk the morning after and they appologized and said that we should have called them and they would have sent security. The second night kids were knocking on the door and yelling room service and running away. We called the front desk - but nothing happened. So for the $$ we spent I felt a little ripped off that they were not too concerned about the noise level at 1:00 in the morning.

What a vacation!
By ,
What a wonderful stay! Although a bit pricey, this lodge was worth every penny. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our two-day stay here. We had the Great Bear Suite which had plenty of room and two seperate baths for our extended family. Rooms were well-maintained and the housekeeping staff was very friendly. The kids enjoyed the water park, which was very well-supervised with lifeguards. After reading the reviews, we chose not to eat in the lodge and were very satisfied with the restaurants in Williamsburg. Plenty to do both inside and outside of the lodge...you'll never get bored!!! Only negative point: Compared to other employees, attendants at the front desk were not overly friendly or welcoming.

Check in BEGINS at 4 PM, you may not get a room til much later...
By ,
I disliked the fact that my family of 20 had to wait until 6:30 PM to check in. The lobby was packed. They said we could swim until our room was ready, so we did. The locker rooms do not have showers and our room wasn't ready until 6:30 PM. The check in starts at 4 PM, your room may not be ready until much much much later.

Water park great....but not the bed bugs
By ,
We found the water park to be very kid friendly and had a wonderful time in the water park. The MagiQuest game is also fun for the kids even though the store clerk was not at all friendly. The trouble began in our room. We checked into a family suite to find a large wet spot in the carpet due to the fridge. They upgraded us to a Wolf's Den room that has bunk beds for the kids. My children were excited to have the bunk beds until they found out that they had bugs in them. We found out that the bunk beds were infested with bed bugs. It was disgusting! The discount they gave us off of one night's rate was nothing compared to the money we spent there. We ate at the buffet one night and the food was not worth what you pay. I definitely agree to the other reviews that said there are cheaper places to eat around the resort or go to the Super Wal-Mart and stock up on items. We also tried the water park snack shop and the Pizza Hut and neither of them was worth the money either. I will not go back to this location after the treatment we received when we notified the hotel of the infestation in our room. We didn't even see a manager. The water park was great, but will definitely go elsewhere for this type of entertainment.

The Ultimate Family Trip!
By ,
From the second I stepped into the Lodge I fell in love! I got a chance to experience two different rooms during my 4 day stay and both of them were awesome! This place has EVERYTHING for the entire family to do without leaving the lodge for anything! It's a 79,000 square foot indoor water park with an 100+ games arcade, Mini Golf, Outdoor pool, shopping, restaurants, Aveda Spa, fitness room, and my favorite: The interactive MagiQuest game that is played throughout the floors of the hotel. The food and drinks were awesome, customer service was great and overall this is the best vacation that me and my children have had EVER!

Great getaway for the little ones
By ,
We visted just after they opened in 05 when my great nephews were only 3 and 5, both of them still remember it and want to go back. Alot reviews say it is expensive and all at once yes it is. BUT if you figure a hotel room and admission to a water for a family of five and parking at the park- do the math, for around $200 a night give or take $20 you will come out alot cheaper at the Wolf Lodge and it will be alot less crowded than a free standing water park. For those that spend $500-$600 a room- thats their choose because they have cheaper suites and cheaper dates. The lodge is always running specials, just do your homework. You do not have to have the most expensive room because it is just a place to sleep and you get the same amenties as everyone else. Another thing I would like to point out is that I have noticed that the prices have hardly gone up at all in the last two years. It is pretty much the same as when it open and they have added things. This is a great getaway for a family and if you can do it during the week it is even better. The pools area remained clean the whole time we were there and the service was good. But do not eat there, the prices are high and the food is not worth it. If the kids don't want to leave, get delivery or take out.
