Hawthorne Motel, Van Buren

MY WIFE AND I STAY 3 DAYS OVER THE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. OUR INTENTIONS WERE TO TAKE A FLOAT TRIP DOWN THE CURRENT RIVER, BUT DUE TO HIGH WATER WE WERE UNABLE TO DO SO. TEDDY AND HIS STAFF MADE UP FOR THE LACK OF FLOATING. THE ROOM WAS OUTSTANDING AND THE STAFF WAS EXCEPTIONAL. POOL WAS CRYSTAL CLEAR AND VERY LARGE. THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE THIS AN ENJOYABLE TRIP. we will be closed for the season starting sept the 15 .will reopen may the first to take reservations for the summer of 2011. see you then take care.

I called and got us a room 3 days before our stay. i asked when could we check in he said at 2 unless the room is ready for you can check in when you get here ..well we got there about 11:30 am..our room wasnt ready for us..But he got the girls in there and got it ready for us..that was awsome most places woulda said you need to come back at 2..not this guy ..He is the coolest guy..very clean rooms not loud like most places you stay at..We will be back goin to try for Aug.Ready to get on that River again..This is a small town and everyone there is very friendly..couldnt ask for a better place to spend the weekend

This was the first time I had ever been to this motel. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and affordable. I would not mind staying there again. The pool is a nice size and was really clear. This was an enjoyable time.

We have been coming here for 4 years on an annual float trip. Each year is better than the one before. Teddy the owner is always friendly and very accomadating to all our needs. The pool is always crystal clear. The rooms clean and reasonable. You are also in walking distance to local resturants. It is always a great time. We are even thinking of coming back later this summer.

This is a great, friendly place to stay. Classic small town Americana! We stayed for 12 days in April when the dogwoods were in bloom. Friendly, helpful staff and great service make this the place to stay in Van Buren. Within walking distance to everything, restaurants, grocery store, etc. The hot water took a little getting used to. Can't take long showers, but hey, who really needs them!!! We are returning for a week in May!! Can't wait!

We take an annual float trip every year and this year about 13 of us stayed at the Hawthorne. It was very clean and conveinetely located downtown near a lot of great eating places.The owner "Teddy" was extremely accomodating and made us feel very safe. There is a great guy named BOB who will take you anywhere you want to go in his van. His wife was also very nice, considering she had to clean up after all us girls. Thanks so much for your hospitality and we hope next year will be even better. Can't wait!

i stayed appr. 6 months (2006-2007) while in the area doing road construction & loved the motel & its new owner. Teddy & family are good people that anyone would enjoy being around.

WE HAD A GREAT TIME WHILE HERE. OUR ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING THERE WAS NO PROBLEM IN GETTING IT. THE STAFF WAS WONDERFUL AND VERY FRIENDLY. VERY HELPFUL IN GIVING ADVISE ON PLACES TO GO. WE WANTED TO STAY AN EXTRA NIGHT BUT HAD TO CANCEL, THERE WAS NO PROBLEM IN GETTING A REFUND. EVERYONE MADE YOU FEEL LIKE FAMILY. WE WILL DEFINATELY BE BACK! THANKS TO TEDDY AND CREW! WE'LL HAVE TO FIX UP SOME CAJUN CUISINE NEXT TIME TEDDY!!!!! THANKS BUNCHES! CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK. JACKIE YANT AND MOON
