Not what I expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/09/09
Upon arrival front desk employees were very pleasant. Hotel is as it looks on the outside, however once in the room, we were not impressed. The beds were uncomfortable & sat really close to the floor. I didn't feel that the bathroom was as clean as it could have been either, since the floors were not clean. Also we noticed no surveillance cameras on the premesis, which was shocking since this was suppose to be a higher end facility. Personally I would want some kind of security while staying here due to the location. We will not be back to this hotel. We have stayed cheaper elsewhere & been very satisfied with cleanliness & hospitality.

Beware of lifeguard!
By stan, 08/29/09
Front desk staff was excellent, our stay here was a nightmare. The lifeguard grabbed my 10 year old grandson, when confronted by management he looked up at our room, we didnt feel comfortable staying there after that, at 11 pm we packed up and moved to a cheaper motel. Did I mention the roaches in the room? Or what was floating in the pool and on the pool restroom floor, We will not be back.

Loved the Resort at Governors Crossing!!!
By MichaelG, 06/16/09
There was not much to dislike, the place was just as advertised. The staff was great, the rooms were great, and the waterpark was great. Our 2 year old daughter loved it. I guess the only that could have been better were the towels, they were very small and abrasive. However, we had brought our own so no big deal there. We are already planning our second trip. :)

watch your money!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/01/08
LIKED: The room was very nice. We had a 2 bedroom suite and there was plenty of room for 5 adults and 1 child. We ate most meals in the room since we had a full kitchen. We all loved the pool with the water slide. The attendants were very nice to all of us, no problems there. DISLIKED: The towels in the room were very small as others had mentioned, not much bigger than a hand towel. The only major problem we had was money missing. The 2nd day there we were going out and my daughter laid $25.00 down and forgot to pick it up. Also we had left a small race track with 3 small cars on the table that our 2 year old was playing with. When we returned to the room we had fresh towels, but nothing else was cleaned in the room. That was when we discovered my daughter's money was missing and also 2 of the race cars. I called the front desk, they were very nice but stated the maid probably thought it was her TIP ($25.00 for only bringing towels into the room!!!!!). They told me they would get in the contact with the maid service and an adjustment would be made. I never heard anything else. For the rest of our 3 night stay we kept the "Do not disturb" sign out to keep the maids out of the room. When I checked out I asked about the maid and the money and was told in a very hateful tone that the maid never saw the money, did not take the money and if I wanted to I could call the police and fill out a police report. I probably should have for the principle of it, but we were leaving so I will just try to contact the manager regarding this matter. Also after that we would request fresh towels to be delivered while we were in the room so we could get them at the door and we were ignored and only after multiple towel requests were we brought towels. Trash was not taken out either and we could not find a convenient place to put our trash. We ended up taking our trash in the car and having to find a dumpster. Several people left their trash outside behind the hotel, I guess they had trouble finding a place also. Other than this, it would have been a perfect place to stay in Pigeon Forge. I do like to feel my belongings are safe in a hotel and the maids are honest. This would be the only reason I would not recommend this hotel, just make sure nothing is left out, or that no maids are allowed to enter!!!!! On the way out of town we did see a new resort with a huge water part "The Wilderness Resort", but it was pretty far away from everything.

Great!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/08
i have no clue what the man below me is thinking, probably tired to get a free night by complaining. i needed a handicap room for my father and it was just fine! the indoor waterpark was amazing, the service was i bit slow but hey they have to have about 200 rooms there and 4 people working so it was ok by me. the room was huge and furnished, it was really nice to have an entire kitchen in the room so that i could fix snacks and watch a movie in the living room with my father with the DVD player that was already in the room! as far as location and the mountains go, there really are not many mountains left in the first place, and traffic is always going to be bad because of everyone just like us going up to have a good time. everyone was friendly and the place was very clean i cant wait to go again. i highly recomend this hotel.

Needed a handicap room, didnt get one
By Black Knight, 08/06/08
I called and reserved a handicap room. Once we got there with my girlfriends 87 year old grandfather, we realized the room we were put in was not a handicap room. The front desk argued with me and told me it was. The next day after two trips to the front desk, one time talking the general manager, and one trip talking to an assistant manager. I was told they were wrong and my room was NOT a handicap room. I was given 20 percent off my bill, but still we had to take a handicaped person into a no handicap bathroom. It was not a fun experence for my girlfriend, since she had to stay in the room with her grandfather all the time in case he had to use the restroom. If they do not work with me, I will not be going back. Plus what they list as a full kitchen, well...... if you stay more then one night, you will have to get something to wash the dishes, you are only given one packet of detergent for the dishwasher. And a room that sleeps four, only has four glasses, and four plates.

Great for families!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/07
For $139/night, we were able to have a clean and comfortable condo. Our kids enjoyed the kiddie pool, but the staff kept having to close the pools and lazy river. Other than that, we were pleased with our stay here. It is in a good location close to outlet shopping.

Enjoyable Smoky Mtn. Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/07
Loved the front desk staff at Governor's Crossing! They showed true southern hospitality to the guests. The housekeeping staff was also diligent and friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The room rate was unbelievably affordable for the quality of accommodations available at the resort. The 3 pools (standard outdoor, lazy river, and kid) were kept spotless and well-stocked with guest towels. And the location was not only convenient to all attractions but was just enough removed from the more congested areas to give a peaceful feeling. My family is anxious to return to the resort, and we highly recommend it to others.

Excellant Quiet place to stay
By Daphne, 07/13/07
It was very clean. If you are a non smoker or person with allergies this is the place to stay. It was the first time I was able to stay away from home with my family and not suffer with bad allergy attacks. The location is perfect for shopping, eating or going to Dollywood. They sell the tickets to Dollywood so there was no lines. Can't wait to go back.

Keep looking!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/07/07
I saw the picture on the internet, got all excited. Thought the price was great, until I got down there and saw what else was available, like the Clarion that had much more than this. The place outside is gorgeous, but opened up our door and walked into two big rooms with hardly no furniture in there and what was in there looked like it came from a consignment shop! No internet in the room, no special niceties at all. I mean, we spent a little more expecting a little more and got a lot less. I would never go back there again. Then, when we left, they said, "Oh yeah, you owe us $1.25 because there was a safe in your room. We said, "say what?" WE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THERE WAS A SAFE IN THE ROOM!!!
