over rated

i expected for the price fo get almost the same thing you would get from a cabin rental. well the best thing about this place is the darn pools. The room wasnt very clean , we had to share a balconey with our neighbors , even though the entry to my room was by 2 ways. the kitchen had a light blown, the microwave didnt even have lights on it, and burnt the food. and God forbid you call the office for something, cause you wont get it, their always out. Also need a parking space? yea me to, their all out every day. I think they are over priced, and over rated by some of these people, hell they must just know emloyees, or they doing it them selves

Loving it!
By ,
We usually stay near Dollywood or Gatlinburg each year at Cmas. Having a family of 5+, we have trouble finding a place with space. This was a LAND! Lots of space to spread out. Brand new facilities. Pool was super fun - more than just your average pool including 2 indoor water slides which my kids from 7 to 23 (and even ME) really enjoyed. The room was very nice with a full kitchen to utilize to save on food costs during our visit. Staff were very friendly. It was so nice to have a washer-n-dryer to dry the wet swim suites. I was a little worried about staying this far north-but the drive to everything was super short! We will return and have told friends. If I had to pick one single downside - I guess I would have liked check-in to be a little earlier (currently set at 3).

Can't wait for our next trip!
By ,
Great service, beautiful view of the pool, very clean and accomodating. Convienient! Wal Mart directly across the road and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Both pools were very nice. Staff was very friendly and willing to help and answer any questions we had. Great for families with children! Very affordable. We will definitely return! No complaints at all!

This was our 3rd visit and it was.....
By ,
the worst! First the AC or lack of. The room was hot the entire trip and the staff could not fix it. We had to go to Wal-Mart and buy a fan to stay cool because there were no cieling fans in the room. We had a conference room rented there for a class, AC also broken in there. It was 85 degrees in that room. The Pool attendants were extremely rude and hateful acting towards myself and 3 year old daughter. I will go back, but it may be a while, I was really let down by what ususally is a great place to stay. If you are planning on a summer visit, stay on the staff about the AC.... Other than those things it was a good time, my daughter loves the Waterpark. That is all I can that was good about this trip.. TIGHTEN UP GC OR I CAN TAKE MY MONEY ELSEWHERE.

Will consider coming back
By ,
You have an excellent staff they are very pleasant and very helpful. The room we stayed in was the same room we stayed in last May. We liked the room. It was very clean. We liked the location of the room. Only two problems with room 1st We do not remember the couch being so uncomfortable. You cannot set on couch and watch TV. You will slide off onto the floor. Just not a comfortable couch. 2Nd Trying to watch the TV in the bedroom from bed. The TV is setting on a low cabinet therefore part of the TV is lower than the foot of the bed causing you to have to pile up pillows or set up in the bed to watch it. TV needs to be mounted high on wall so it can be viewed more comfortably

Not what I expected
By ,
Upon arrival front desk employees were very pleasant. Hotel is as it looks on the outside, however once in the room, we were not impressed. The beds were uncomfortable & sat really close to the floor. I didn't feel that the bathroom was as clean as it could have been either, since the floors were not clean. Also we noticed no surveillance cameras on the premesis, which was shocking since this was suppose to be a higher end facility. Personally I would want some kind of security while staying here due to the location. We will not be back to this hotel. We have stayed cheaper elsewhere & been very satisfied with cleanliness & hospitality.

Beware of lifeguard!
By ,
Front desk staff was excellent, our stay here was a nightmare. The lifeguard grabbed my 10 year old grandson, when confronted by management he looked up at our room, we didnt feel comfortable staying there after that, at 11 pm we packed up and moved to a cheaper motel. Did I mention the roaches in the room? Or what was floating in the pool and on the pool restroom floor, We will not be back.

Loved the Resort at Governors Crossing!!!
By ,
There was not much to dislike, the place was just as advertised. The staff was great, the rooms were great, and the waterpark was great. Our 2 year old daughter loved it. I guess the only that could have been better were the towels, they were very small and abrasive. However, we had brought our own so no big deal there. We are already planning our second trip. :)

watch your money!!!
By ,
LIKED: The room was very nice. We had a 2 bedroom suite and there was plenty of room for 5 adults and 1 child. We ate most meals in the room since we had a full kitchen. We all loved the pool with the water slide. The attendants were very nice to all of us, no problems there. DISLIKED: The towels in the room were very small as others had mentioned, not much bigger than a hand towel. The only major problem we had was money missing. The 2nd day there we were going out and my daughter laid $25.00 down and forgot to pick it up. Also we had left a small race track with 3 small cars on the table that our 2 year old was playing with. When we returned to the room we had fresh towels, but nothing else was cleaned in the room. That was when we discovered my daughter's money was missing and also 2 of the race cars. I called the front desk, they were very nice but stated the maid probably thought it was her TIP ($25.00 for only bringing towels into the room!!!!!). They told me they would get in the contact with the maid service and an adjustment would be made. I never heard anything else. For the rest of our 3 night stay we kept the "Do not disturb" sign out to keep the maids out of the room. When I checked out I asked about the maid and the money and was told in a very hateful tone that the maid never saw the money, did not take the money and if I wanted to I could call the police and fill out a police report. I probably should have for the principle of it, but we were leaving so I will just try to contact the manager regarding this matter. Also after that we would request fresh towels to be delivered while we were in the room so we could get them at the door and we were ignored and only after multiple towel requests were we brought towels. Trash was not taken out either and we could not find a convenient place to put our trash. We ended up taking our trash in the car and having to find a dumpster. Several people left their trash outside behind the hotel, I guess they had trouble finding a place also. Other than this, it would have been a perfect place to stay in Pigeon Forge. I do like to feel my belongings are safe in a hotel and the maids are honest. This would be the only reason I would not recommend this hotel, just make sure nothing is left out, or that no maids are allowed to enter!!!!! On the way out of town we did see a new resort with a huge water part "The Wilderness Resort", but it was pretty far away from everything.

Great!
By ,
i have no clue what the man below me is thinking, probably tired to get a free night by complaining. i needed a handicap room for my father and it was just fine! the indoor waterpark was amazing, the service was i bit slow but hey they have to have about 200 rooms there and 4 people working so it was ok by me. the room was huge and furnished, it was really nice to have an entire kitchen in the room so that i could fix snacks and watch a movie in the living room with my father with the DVD player that was already in the room! as far as location and the mountains go, there really are not many mountains left in the first place, and traffic is always going to be bad because of everyone just like us going up to have a good time. everyone was friendly and the place was very clean i cant wait to go again. i highly recomend this hotel.
