La Hacienda Grande
Situated in the Rio Grande Valley, La Hacienda Grande is midway between Santa Fe and Albuquerque off Interstate-25. Said to be the oldest inn in the entire country, this low-slung, Spanish Fort-style adobe features six spacious, well-appointed rooms with beamed viga ceilings and comfortable beds. A hardy breakfast, featuring fresh southwestern flavored foods, is served daily.
In July, we had our entire wedding (rehearsal dinner, ceremony, & reception) at the La Hacienda Grande and everything worked out perfectly. Melody did a thorough and amazing job organizing all of the vendors (caterer, bar, photographer, tents/chairs, DJ, etc), plus served as the minister. The entire wedding party and some out of town guests were able to stay both night in the 5 rooms located on premises and everyone was very impressed with the comfort, history, and ambiance of the entire “adobe style” layout. The location created a setting for some beautiful pictures and Melody’s eye for detail really eased our minds on such an important occasion. If you are planning a romantic, peaceful getaway for a couple or a larger group, consider heading to Bernalillo for the weekend. The La Hacienda Grande is located very close to the RailRunner so Santa Fe is an easy day trip. Several Albuquerque landmarks, hiking trails, and other tourist attractions are easily within a 20-minute drive, plus there are other attractions locally that are fun, eclectic, and interesting.
This is a very unique place to stay. The courtyard is beautiful. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The hacienda is more than 200 years old. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was delicious.
