One of the most gracious innkeepers!

On our Route 66 journey across the country, we stayed at B&B's most of the time, and they were all terrific. We stayed in fancier, more highly decorated places, but decor is not where the magic resides. The Aspen Inn was one of the more simply decorated B&B's, but because of Joe and Raquel Sanchez, the innkeepers, we will always recall our three days in Flagstaff with pleasure. Joe seems truly eager to please his guests and provide what they need for comfort and enjoyment. We stayed in the Wyatt Earp room, a spacious room with a good comfortable king-size bed. The house and the rooms were immaculately clean. Joe's breakfasts were delicious works of art, and in fact, I photographed them. We had come all the way across the country in an older Corvette which needed some major service by the time we reached Flagstaff, and Joe gave us some good recommendations for car repair businesses. We were without a car for almost two days, and so appreciated being within easy walking distance of downtown Flagstaff. Joe gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants (especially Charly's and the Beaver St. Brewery) and for a tour company to visit the Grand Canyon. We had some pleasant conversations and learned a lot about the area from Joe. By the time we were ready to leave, it felt like he was an old friend.
