I can tell you there was not one thing that we did not like. From our wonderful hostess Briquitte to our massage and the most wonderful food ever. I truly felt like a princess. Our wishes were met by our new friend Briquitte. You must do this at least once in your life. Ours was our 40th anniversary and it was truly made special. thanks Briquitte.
The Storybook Inn was having a special, $99/night, which fit our budget perfectly. The place was clean, the room had a huge, comfortable bed, breakfast was fantastic, and it's within walking distance to everything. It's a great option to staying in a big hotel chain.
The lady at the front desk (Christine) was very nice and even gave us recommendations where to eat if we prefer not to dine at their restaurant. She even offered to make the reservation for us... very nice of her.
The inn is quaint but very romantic -I love it. They gave us the smallest room since it was the only room available at that time but we really don't mind since it was only an overnight stay. The place is soo cozy and very clean. The food was great ... the accomodation comes with a free breakfast.
We have not tried dining at their restaurant but I heard from the other guest that the food is great.. I will definitely try it next time.
Although the room rate is a little bit high but I have no regrets and was happy very happy with the experience - I really enjoyed it. I will definitely go back and this time we hope we can get the more bigger rooms.
My fiance and I spent a night in the "Princess & The Pea" room last year, and it was such a romantic stay. The room was beautiful, the atmosphere was great and the whole weekend was fabulous.
We're looking forward to our next stay, but we need to wait until the weather is perfect since we travel by motorcycle.
Not only is it about the journey, but it is the destination, in this case!

This place was excellent! I came with my "now fiancee" from Japan. I am a native Los Angeleleno, currently living in Osaka, Japan. After living in a country where space is limited, this place was great, next to my parent's place in L.A. We needed a short vacation away from the family and this was great. Great walking distance from the main shopping district. Our room was very comfortable, with an excellent bath/jacuzzi. The breakfast was delicious and filling.
We are definitely coming back! This is OUR place! Thanks for everything!
We go to quite a few B&Bs in California...this was one of our biggest disappointments.
You would think that the owners would realize the bulk of their business occurs over the weekend, regardless of season. Their staffing, except for at checkout, was virtually invisible. In the room, the bathtub was disgustingly moldy.
I was trying to make a nice weekend for a couple which were or guests. We arrived early and had arranged for our keys to be left outside - not done. We knocked, and although someone was inside, we were ignored.
We later came back for the wine and cheese, within the last 1/2 hour before their serving time was over, virtually all the wine and cheese was depleted. No one was absolutely no one around to request anything of.
My girlfriend hated taking a shower in the moldy tub, and there werent enough towels.
The only time staffing was attentive was to settle the final bill upon checkout. When I expressed my concerns, they were defensive about the confusion the day before and very nonchalant about everything else.
Its a cute enough place, but it seems like this is more like a part time hobby for the family that owns it, and it shows. It could be a lot more professionally. We were not enchanted by the Storybook, sufficiently so that we won't return.
We visited the Storybook Inn for a weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of L.A. What a relaxing place to go. We mentioned to the front desk person that it was our anniversay and there was a chilled bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room. The food was exquisite as was the charming and whimsical atmosphere. I'd definitely come back again. Stay in one of the jacuzzi suites if possible and ask for the ableskivers for breakfast.
