Alpenhorn Bed and Breakfast, Big Bear Lake

We've stayed at a lot of B&B's before and the best by far is Alpenhorn. There are many great things about this place, our room, the amazing food, and of course our generous and delightful hosts. They made us feel like family and we look forward to our next trip back to Big Bear!

After doing such research on the internet for a romantic getaway in Big Bear we booked our stay at the Alpenhorn but we were not quite sure what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised. The B&B was charming; our suite was much bigger then what we had anticipated with fantastic accomodations, for the price. Our suite had a two person, 6 ft spa tub, fireplace, and private balcony. The hor d'oeuvres and breakfast were delicious. If you are in need for a massage ask Linda to book an in-room massage with Irene who was one of the best massage therepists I've ever had, it far exceeded those expensive spa massages. I would highly recommend this B&B, I can't wait to return.

The only Auto Club rated Four Diamond lodging. The attention to detail is flawless. The food is the best I've ever had. The staff is friendly and eager to please.

We booked this place based on the four diamond rating by AAA. We thought it would be in a very nice and exclusive area of Big Bear. When we arrived (at night) we could not see the surrounding area. The next morning after breakfast (nothing spectacular) we set off for a leisure walk around the inn. We were truly amazed! This place is located right in the middle of the Barrio of Big Bear! We were shocked! Not only that, it was further from the lake and the village than I would expect of a place with a high rating. For the $600+ we spent on this place we could have done better! We also had to settle for a queen bed that wasn't the most comfortable.
