Zosa Gardens Bed & Breakfast, Escondido

We were supposed to be there for two nights and didn't spend the second night there. We went home instead. The usual geniality you find at a traditional bed and breakfast wan't there at all. The housekeeper (or possibly the owner, we didn't know) couldn't communicate and didn't understand us. We filled in a form at check in asking us any dietary restrictions and we told them "no meat." The next morning for breakfast we were served eggs benedict with ham. There were no options. THe half-and-half served with the coffee was rancid and came out in lumps from the container. Our reservation included golf for two. When we got to the course the pro shop had our reservation but didn't know anything about the payment arrangements. They were gracious and let us play without charging us and said they would straighten it out with the B & B. We left for the day to go on a wine tour and when we returned at 5:00 our room hadn't been touched. The bed wasn't made and the bathroom still had the wet towels lying around the tub. There was no one around to question. We packed our bags and left. The place was dark and dingy and unwelcoming.
