Phoebe Pember House & Studio, Charleston

Six of us stayed in 3 rooms for 3 nights. We were charged double the price quoted for 2 of the rooms, after twice requesting, and not receiving, confirmations... At best clumsy business... at worst mis-leading and intentional. A nice enough building with some charm; old and not well maintained. And, the rooms were not well cleaned. The linens were threadbare and had holes. The kitchen did not have enough equipment to prepare food nor utensils to eat it. We had to ask for paper towels, coffee filters, spoons and got the minimum requested. There was no common area indoors. The staff were OK; but the owner largely absent. Breakfast was stale store muffins & juice. The muffin left today reappears tomorrow. Big Price ... Terrible Value.
