Bates motel
By Daddy J, 5/19/11
That is what I thought of when I drove up. It is very old and out of date. There are no plugs available without unplugging something in the room. What I experienced was poor service, dirty room, sad breakfast...how do you mess up coffee?? Why would you put two guests next to each other when there were only 4 rooms booked out of 60+? I have stayed in worse, but not in the last 15 yrs and I paid 1/5th the rate. Go camp, stay in Montgomery, sleep in your car, if you must try this place ask to see the room before giving them your money.

Animal House. Bedbugs? Ewwww.
By Ann, 9/9/10
One of the nastiest hotels I have ever been in. No or inconvenient electrical plugs, torn upholstery, filthy carpet, substandard towels, musty window unit AC. To top it all off my son and I both had what appeared to be bedbugs bites. If I wasn't trapped there by it being orientation for Auburn and everything booked up and the middle of summer, would never have stayed. External mount security cameras had bare cable stapled to the walls. No problem at all to cut the cables and disable it all. It felt like a frat house after homecoming weekend.

Great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/8/10
Great location for a home game. You really don't have to leave the hotel if you don't want to. Good front desk service. Hotels out by interstate may be nicer, but you can't beat the location. I will stay there again from a football game.

Oaky for the cost
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/08
The bathrooms appreared to have been recently remodeled although I spotted some mold around the soap dish. The carpet needs a good cleaning...we refused to walk barefoot on it (or in socks for that matter). Otherwise I would consider it worn but clean enough. For the cost and convience to campus it wasn't too bad.

worse than the bates motel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/08
I stayed there for my daughters orientation. I would have immediately checked out and lost my money but everthing else was booked. The rooms are musty, dirty and need to be renovated. Or even better torn down.

Small room and...
By Donna B, 7/26/08
When booking I requested a handicapped room (on a Thursday night) due to a recent broken leg and difficulty walking and was told there were none available. Upon check-in I again requested a handicapped room and again was told there were none available. It is very hard to believe, because there were only a few vehicles around the rather large hotel, that any and all handicapped rooms be full. The room itself was clean "enough" although very small. We both decided the room and bath were the smallest we have ever stayed in. We booked the room for location and it is directly across from the Auburn University so that was the only plus if that's what you are looking for. My husband woke and went to check on the continental breakfast. He said it was very small, lacking of any selection. For a future visit I will select another hotel. Cost $70.00.

best place to stay in Auburn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/07
Formally the Heart of Auburn...a landmark. It is old, but right where you want to be and you can walk to anything. Great location! Or you can spend 4 times as much for the hotel and conference center 200 yards up the street.

Cleanliness Needed
By Jan, 7/9/07
Needs a thorough cleaning. There was a dead bug in the bathroom and a musty smell. The internet did not work in the room, although it could be accessed from the lobby.
