Description

After major renovations were completed in 2005, this lovely Italianate style mansion opened as a grand bed and breakfast. Its history includes rescue by Jim William of “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” fame from destruction and its purchase by the Historical Savannah Foundation. The inn features six beautifully furnished rooms in the main house and three rooms in the carriage house with either queen or king-size bed. There is also a private garden and courtyard and free parking. Guests will enjoy a full breakfast in the dining room in the traditional Southern style. Pets are allowed. - Natasha Lawrence

Great experience
By ,
We found the Inn to be immaculate. Easy to get to once you became familiar with the city's well laid out streets. Most impressive was the wonderful congeniality of the ladies in charge. Leslie and Sonia could not have been more welcoming, warm knowledgeable and helpful. They prepare breakfast with the skill of "degreed" culinary artists which Sonia is. The house is of course an old historical one but the interior restoration is beautiful. Our room very, very nice and the accompanying bathroom especially attractive. Mr.'s comments Now the Mrs; the best part of the house is the people there!! from the moment we called we were friends. sonja was the one who met us and welcomed us and then leslie, Emmy and later we met louisa and becky. they were all helpful about what to do, they made reservations for us at restaurants, etc. breakfast was gourmet and lovely and the room sparkling and I loved the touch of fresh hydrangeas!! if we didn't live so far away we would be back regularly. the morning we left we were sent off as family :)

PERFECT!!
By ,
My husband and I stayed at the Catherine Ward House last week and it was perfect!!! Savannah is amazing in and of itself and we had the best time!! Leslie was wonderful, VERY accommodating. (I actually wish I could've sat and chatted with her longer!) I had planned everything prior to arriving but they have relationships with a lot of local businesses and they know the best places to go, when to go, etc. and even arranged for a shuttle to pick us up and drop us off for an outing. We wanted to really experience Savannah but the CWH was so lovely, comfortable, and relaxing that one of the best nights we had there was when we ordered in sushi and watched movies all night! We stayed in a beautiful room, VERY clean, VERY comfortable. (Fresh, beautiful flowers, too!) The house has several places that are so serene and beautiful, you can just sit and read or just close your eyes and listen to the birds. The breakfast was SO delicious! I can't eat eggs so she asked me what I liked and prepared oatmeal for me though it wasn't what was planned for breakfast. Its the perfect mixture of elegance, class, Southern charm, and comfort! I'm already planning our next trip back to Savannah and we are DEFINITELY staying at the CWH! Thank you Leslie!!

Wonderful place - easy to recommend and refer.
By ,
I wanted a place close to Forsythe Park and the historic district - stay here and those wants are met! The rooms were great, the patios a relaxing joy (one afternoon I rotated between napping in a patio chair and reading), breakfast met my and all the other guests needs. Very easy to recommend and refer others.
