The room was cleaner then the last time I stay at the bed and breakfast. The place is being remodel. I really love the balcony. You can sit on the balcony and watch the Bird Cage Theater and watch what is going on downtown. The town shuts down at 5:00 which is a little early. The breakfast we had at the Silver Nugget was NONE not even a choice of a muffin. There was 4 old boxes of kid's size cereal but no milk. So I don't know where the part of bed and breakfast comes in they should update their web site if they are saying breakfast. They would have got a much higher rating if they would have breakfast items to eat and cook ourselves at least.
Notice, I wanted no stars but I had to give one? Awful. BAD! Haven't stayed in a place this bad since the bad hostels in Europe. Stayed in the Wyatt Earp room with my wife and step daughter.
To start, you enter through the back alley and along the building with the trash, porta potties from the bar, the old grill and the security fence for next door. I felt like low class people going there.
Entering the room, the first thing you notice is the bathroom door is a wide sliding glass door for a porch. There are old, cheap thin vertical blinds that don't close for privacy. To shower or change, either my daughter or I had to leave the room to give the other privacy. There was a large 6-7 foot window looking out to the public entrance porch with a thin see through curtain that didn't cover 10 inches of the bottom of the window. Someone could just look under the curtain into our room. We used pillows to cover the space.
DIRTY!!! Stains everywhere, walls, carpet and in the bathroom, don't want to know what from. My wifes feet stuck to the dirty carpet.
One, half roll of toilet paper sitting on top of a wall in front of the toilet because the toilet paper holder was missing. The wall was so close to the toilet that my knees touched the wall when sitting on the loose toilet. The toilet actually rocked on the floor. The bar of soap in the shower was left over from the last people in the room. There was a cigarette butt in the toilet when we arrived.
The breakfast was bad coffee and frozen muffins or $0.25 pastries from a gas station.
At 4:30 in the morning I heard someone come in and go to the bathroom adjacent to our room and proceed to throw up. I had the pleasure of listening to it all since the walls must not have any sound proofing insulation. Seriously, I heard EVERYTHING. Just disgusting. I could go on... DO NOT stay there.
I usually don't write reviews but people have to be warned about this place. On the up side, great location but that by no means makes up for the place. DO NOT stay there.
The location of the B&B is ideal. The balcony is fun. The service is also really great.
The sheets and towels in this place are incredibly gross. They really need to be washed in bleach or traded for new ones. ASAP
It was winter and the freezing cold AC was on all night. Strangely, in the morning, the heat came on and it was about 80 degrees inside the room. We had to get out of there since there were no windows to be opened and we were cooking in there.
Breakfast was those kids lunchbox size cereal boxes and instant coffee
The room we stayed in had a strange window that faced the main entrance door. The glass seemed old and hazy. There were drapes on the inside of the room but they were thin so anyone coming in could see inside the room if the lights were on.
(I guess that's what you get for 60 $ dollars)
Three of us from California stayed here in 2009. This is such a great place. The hotel, staff, location and balcony is awesome. Plan on going back again this summer!!!! Perfect location for walking around the streets of Tombstone!!
Just did a trip with a couple of friends, spent the 1st night at Six Guns had fun but slow service. Went to Silver Nuget the 2nd night for drinks and Karaoke. The service was great, thanks Speedy! AKA Ann our waitress and the owners daughter.
Food was also good and the prices were as cheep as eating out at home. The locals hang out here but we were made to feel like one of the family. We stayed at the Tombstone Inn which had clean rooms but no extras. We didn't care cause we were only in the room long enough to catch a few hours sleep each night. the next trip we will try to get a room at the B&B upstairs. If you stop in tell Ann her 4 guys for California we will see her soon.
We stayed in the Rose Room and others in our party stayed in the John Wayne Room. We enjoyed the friendly service, the wonderful food and the country singer who performed from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. We did check out the sights but found ourselves coming back to the Silver Nugget. It is a historical building and it is unrealistic to expect "all the modern conveniences" that's part of its charm! I do believe the country singer is out of his element. He should be in Nashville! (And the specialty of the house, the Barbeque, is to die for!
Well, despite the lack of professionalism from a few of the workers there, I loved it. Location was wonderful; great view of the Birdcage Theater. It's a shame everything closed at like 5pm! That's was the worst part of the trip. Oh, and a little something you're not going to hear from the owners: IT'S HAUNTED! I loved to hear it was haunted, unfortunately my stepmom was not too happy about it. We had a few experiences while we were there. My dad and I were in Heaven. Have fun!!
I hated this place, it was filthy, the rooms smelled, there was a couple with a baby, and although they were nice, the baby screamed all night!!! It was not private, it was like a small house, everyone shared the kitchen and small dirty stained living room...The breakfast was stale wrapped pastries like you buy at a corner market, the only thing nice was the balcony...overall it was gross and yucky !!! I will never go back...I'd rather sleep in a tent...or even in the cemetery...
I stayed with a friend of mine for a whole week in Tombstone November 2007 and we stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. We both loved it very much, it has the best location, a wonderful service, friendly personal, a great balcony and much more. It's just highly recommendable and the best place to stay in Tombstone!
Was overall a great stay loved the balcony, we were a little cramped for space in the john wayne room and the bathroom sharing thing was not so great but we had a great time the balcony made up for it and being so close to everything was awesome would definately go back but with out kids lol
