Aunt Ruby's Bed and Breakfast, Lake Charles

I had a very pleasant stay at Aunt Ruby's. Check in was easy and the owner was a gracious host. My room was lovely. Decorated true to the period of the home. Neighborhood was nice and quiet. I had a great night's rest in my comfortable bed. The owner prepared for me a breakfast that was fit for a queen. Relaxing and delicious! The best coffee I have ever had! When I asked about places to eat for that evening, the owner was helpful and made several suggestions. I chose a place that was within walking distance of Aunt Ruby's. I am going to stay at Aunt Ruby's every chance I get and I will be telling everyone I know to stay there as well. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

It was truly a relaxing retreat staying at Ruby's B&B. Dan was both a gracious host and a chef beyond compare. We could not have been more pleased with every aspect of our stay. If I visit Lake Charles again I would definitely stay again!!

This was a very nice experience. The house is charming and well-kept, the guest rooms well decorated and appointed (including a mini-fridge- so convenient!) The breakfast was delicious, with a mouth-watering spinach quiche served. The location is right in the middle of downtown Lake Charles and very easy to find. Ask for room 5 or 6, they share a private balcony overlooking a beautiful, quiet street. I would definitely stay there again.

There is absolutely nothing I didn't love about my stay. When I told the owner I was arriving late, it was no problem. I wound up not bringing the phone number of the employee who was supposed to be coming over late to check me in - she called me when I got off the plane, not to scold me for making her wait, but because she sounded worried she hadn't heard from me. The room was spacious, even though it was the smallest one. The breakfast was tasty. the coffee fresh and plentiful and the staff sweet. I loved it there. And if I ever wind up in Lake Charles again, I'm staying with Aunt Ruby!
