Chassahowitzka River Lodge, Homosassa

Do not stay here. The accommodations are overpriced. The beds were terribly uncomfortable and I wished I had brought my own sheets and pillows as I questioned the cleanliness. The towels had holes in them. For the price of the room, we thought that the canoe rental would be included. We were told that they were not, but that we could keep them out after five. However, the first night we did this, we were yelled at in front of everyone at the lodge and the owner swore she had never said that. This was one of several rules that changed during our stay. Speaking of canoes, we were told they were all in good shape. The first day, the one we used had a broken seat and a hole in the bottom. Additionally, the management was downright rude. I felt as though she was looking for things to reprimand us over. On the third day, we decided to rent our canoe from the county park next door. The canoes were twice the price, but were practically brand new, plus the staff there was nice.
