Romantic Getaway

I found this place over the internet, and on a whim decided to try it, because I was tired of staying in hotels/motels, and my husband and I were in need of some much alone time. We arrived Saturday afternoon, and after about 5 minutes we were finally greeted by the staff, they were having an event that evening so were quite busy. They were extremely nice and very accommodating. We had orginally booked the Magnolia room, but were upgraded to the Washington room, which was fine by us.
The room itself was decent size with all imenities, including a small bottle of wine & glasses. The was an oversize bathroom with a large vanity, beautiful garden tub w/ jets and a 2 person shower. Our stay was short, but none the less romantic, to say the least. I was a little disappointed that the tv had a HUGE crack down the side...something that definitely need to be replaced and we were sure to let them know, so that it didn't go on our bill. Also, the ironing board was one of those floor ones, not very convenient for someone trying to iron dress clothes for a wedding. They need to go to Walmart and purchase a standard size ironing board, however I was highly impressed with the iron. We got unpacked and decided to venture out on to the property and go swimming. The property is absolutely beautiful. Smack dab in a quint neighborhood, with 2 Bars and a restaurant across the street, and a Starbucks and Panera Bread around the corner. We saw that there was many little shops & etc. that seemed really nice, however we did not get to venture that part...perhaps next time. You don't even feel like your in a "downtown"...it's almost 2 different worlds. The place is so quiet you'd never know you where downtown! The only other disappointing thing was the pool. In the pictures online, it looks like a decent size pool, however the closer you get to it, the smaller it gets! It was only 3 1/2 deep all the way around. It only allowed for 6 people max....small pool huh? Anyway, we didn't have their breakfast, as sleeping and other things seemed more important. We will definitely be going back, however our stay there will be much longer.
