My oasis of gay freedom
By DaleR, 09/16/08
Traveling alone and on a small budget, I was comfortably trapped in my usual "family friendly" weekly time share in Pompano Beach hoping to somehow find the Ft Lauderdale gay community. A salesman in the Wilton Manors area gave me a booklet that contained an add for a day pass at PP. I called and that decision changed my entire vacation. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with the same consideration and friendliness as any of the overnight guests. The resort is beautiful and offers opportunities to sun "fully" or retreat to shady areas all while staying in the same pool area. The resort offers the ability to mix and mingle or to spend quiet time alone. Everything was provided and it looked just like the pictures in the brochure - no disappointing surprises. I enjoyed a remarkable massage, the hot tub, the lap pool, the main pool, the food and snacks, the staff, the eye candy, conversation with seasoned life partners and swimming and sunning in the buff. I cannot express how much I appreciate the quality of the day pass to the owners and the staff. I will be back, and hopefully one day I'll be able to return with a boyfriend or partner and enjoy the rooms.

Pineapple Point is BAD
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/08
I booked two rooms for five days and paid over $4000 to find a mosquito haven with cats running loose at the breakfast buffet. The pools were filthy and the owners publicly defamed us then called the Police to remove us after one of my friends called the Paramedics after hitting his head in the pool. Apparently, calling 911 is causing a disturbance. They gave no refund and then tried to charge for room damage and massages never ordered or received. The place is out-dated with VCRs and big clunky fat TVs like grandma had. Seriously, there is no place to go without being eaten alive by mosquitoes. The staff leaves bug repelleant around but I'm allergic to it so I had to stay inside. It's 2008...ever heard of a fogger or a bug zapper? If you want to be over-charged and under-serviced, come to Pineapple Point.

I was there over Christmas two years ago and I really loved Pineapple. The staff was amazing, professional and always there to help. The other guests were really friendly. It was very easy to make friends. Please go to Pineapple!!!

Absolutely perfect
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/06
We discovered Pineapploe Point by accident having arrived just after a hurricane when our previously booked guest house was closed due to lack of electricity. What a GREAT find. We have now been back three times. The rooms are spotless, beautifully decorated and the linins are top quality. The rooms are surrounded by lush "jungle" which is meticulously maintained. The staff gets to know each guest by name and cannot do enough...booking reservations, setting up massages, ordering lunch at the pool, etc. Yes you have to drive to bars or the beach however Ft. Lauderdale is not South Beach (thank God) and you have to drive between bars, beaches and restaurants no matter where you stay. We have referred friends who have also loved their stay. We are travel very frequently and are in touch with what is out there and Pineapple Point is in the top tier!
