Sharon's Serenity, Kailua

I liked the location alot. Very close to Kailua town stores and eateries. Sharon was very helpful to advise where to eat every night I was there. Her home & accommodations were very comfy and felt like you were in your own home. Sharon was a very good host and we shared many enjoyable conversations together. I would recommend this B&B to friends & family and would love to return one day soon.

I travel home to Kailua on a regular basis and this time, needed to stay at a Bed & Breakfast. I was greated by Sharon in the traditional relaxing style of the Islands. I found her home to be the perfect stay for my needs. I don't like to be waited on hand and foot as I go thru/out my day and so this was perfect. It was relaxing, beautiful, tranquil and very convenient. I didn't even need a rental car being that the beach was a 5 min. walk away and the bus stop location was at the end of her street where I went into town and all other places of interest. Sharon is very busy thru/out her day, so if you are looking for her company while in her home, this may not be a place for you. But if you are looking for a what I feel is the most beautiful B&B retreat, and you have a full scedule of plans, ......this is the place for you!!!!!! Loved your home Sharon and I WILL come back!! Sharon's is the most peaceful place I have ever stayed. My husband and I have stayed at Sharon's for years and we keep going back when we need to rest and be refreshed from out busy lives. Sharon's rooms are comfortable, always clean, and her breakfasts are wonderful. They include fresh island fruit. It is only a 5 minute walk to beautiful Kailua Beach from Sharon's. There are many wonderful little places to eat that are close and Sharon will tell you the good ones. I wish we could go a lot more often!

Felt like home-away-from home. The setting is ideal, nothing like coffee on the canal and late night cocktail watching the moon. Quiet and tropical. Pool delightful. We felt so welcome and comfortable. Visited Waikiki and couldn't not wait to get back to Kailua and Sharon's Serenity. If you want a commercial vacation this is not it. This is peaceful, gentle and welcoming. Walk to Kailua Beach - close and beautiful. Incredible value. We truly felt we could not have done better. We love to meet new people and feel welcome - not sterile and this was the most perfect place. We did not want to leave and will return. Incredible memories. Feel as though we have made a wonderful friend and kindred spirit. Thank you, Sharon!

I would not recommend this place if you want to get a true feel for Kailua. Sharon made us feel like we were infringing upon her domain and it was uncomfortable. She also does not like children, that to me says it all. Kailua has other places to stay that are much mor fifriendlier and hospitable!!

Sorry, I can't give this B & B a super A rating. The owner was unfriendly, not very helpful when we asked questions re. distance to town, bus lines, places to eat, etc. Needed dusting and cleaning. Shower door was very dirty --- soap scumb. Cockroaches in the bathroom. She would prepare bkfst --- muffin, coffee, and paypa's only and would take the pineapple in her hands (no gloves, or spoons) and dish it out on our plates. Hard to tell when she had washed her hands. Yard and pool was pretty, however. Won't recommend it.

Sharon and her home were so perfect! We always talk about our stay with her and my most favorite place on this earth....Kailua. I love this town, and its people. Sharons place is so close to everything! Buzz's by the canal B&J's grinds on the beach Fat Boys the $1.00 theater at Enchaned Lakes Shave Ice great place great neighborhood great location just perfect in every way! There was nothing to dislike about sharons serenity. We had the most perfect holiday ever. Sharon was great, we have found a real friend for life, she was so kind and helpful to us brits, and she had a lovely home with an adorable dog and cat. We just fell in love with the whole package, and cant wait to go back.

Having read the other review on this hotel, we are hesitant to say anything negative, because perhaps Sharon was having a "bad day" when we arrived. Overall, she was OK, not super friendly, but OK. Breakfast consisted of a muffin or bagel from Costco, fruit and coffee which was fine, but nothing to write home about. When one of us sat in the living room in the recliner, she quickly told us that was "her" chair and that it wasn't for guests. This is Sharon's home too, so it was hard to figure out what areas were "open" to guests. The location on the water is very nice. If you don't expect a 5 star experience, you will do fine. She didn't strike us as someone who really enjoys being in the hospitality industry, although maybe she is just burned out.
