Hotel Fourati Hamammet, Al Hammamat

The plus points:- Weather was great The beach was excellent The 3 swimming pools were excellent The evening entertainment was very good..especialy for children There was no drunkeness at all...family hotel, peoples behaviour was excellent. The minus points:- Some of the service was very good...mostly dire though. At reception when we arrived, the person at the desk was totally brusque to the point of rudeness..bearing in mind we had been travelling for 16hrs and arrived at about 12:30 at night. Poor start. The rooms were cleanish, but there was a continuous smell of sewage which never went away...that was awful. we all got very runny tummys throughout the stay. The people outside the hotel were incredibly rude and hostile and shouted and swore at you if you did not buy something as you walked pass. They did try and totally rip you off..this was to be expected..nonetheless very annoying. We were staying half board...the food was dire. We had 1 breakfast throughout the stay. The staff resented you as they served you...some were excellent...the others dreadful. When we left, at the customs checkout in the airport, the customs officer demanded �2 for his family. I paid. The flight was leaving in an hour and a half. They did that to all the passengers. If you were female, the simply opened up your purse and took the money. I could go on...so many negative things to mention. DON'T GO...DON'T GO...DON'T GO
