I recently stayed at the Baan Yin Dee Boutique Resort in Phuket. Due to work, I spend about 250 days/per year in hotels. Fortunately, I am able to stay in 4/5 star hotels during my trips.
The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained. Unfortunately, I had a VERY bad experience with one of the front desk staff upon check-out. Without going into details, during the check-out process, the front desk staff literally threw my credit card across the table onto the floor because she was upset. Too add to this little burst of rage, she began to verbally make degrading statements about me. Since it is a small boutique hotel, there appeared to be no management on-site late in the evening so I managed to get out of there as quickly as possible before my temper erupted.
I will send a memo to the General Manager in the morning and discuss the situation in detail but I do caution potential guests that if you plan to stay at this 5 star facility, your expectations of high quality service may not be fulfilled. I hope that the General Manager reacts to this situation properly so it does not happen again to any future guests.
It's unfortunate that one staff member could disgrace the image of this hotel.
