Rocky Boutique Resort, Ko Samui

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights for our one year wedding anniversary and loved it. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. We stayed in a deluxe Junior Suite Ocean View for around US$120 a night. It was a special in which you got the 5th night free, check the website. The room was beautiful. We had our own deck overlooking the water and you are about 20 feet up. Bed was great and comfortable. Bathroom was large. You have wireless access for a fee like most hotels in Samui. Using the hotel computers was 2 baht/minute, much less than most hotels we stayed at in Thailand. We received a free breakfast buffet every morning, which was very good and a complimentary dinner, which was also very good. Both pools were very nice and the resort is small and secluded. They also had free kayaking for hotel guests. The way the hotel is nestled in between many trees with a small river running through it gives you the feeling you are at a special place. The only negative I can say is the beach is really non existant. High tide occurs during the day time hours so the water hits the property wall. You walk down the stairs from the pool into salt water. So if you want a nice beach, this is not the place for you. If you want a nice secluded hotel for a great price, this is the place for you. The other thing that really impressed me is there weren't a ton of other little fees so you don't feel like the hotel is trying to take every penny from you. The food wasn't overpriced. The internet access was not that expensive. Kayaking was free. TV had plenty of channels. And our consierge who helped with tours was very helpful. Great hotel.

I don't know which hotel the last reviewer stayed in, but it certainly wasn't our experience of the resort. We found the service to be outstanding, the staff extremely friendly, and the rooms beautiful and impeccably clean. We stayed for 5 nights in July and had a wonderful time. The pool near the beach was beautiful and the staff came around in the morning with fresh fruit as refreshments. The bar staff made great cocktails and the food in the restaurant was outstanding. I highly recommend you check out Rocky's if you're planning a trip to samui.

Although the island of Koh Samui is full of beauty and wonderment, Rocky's Resort is by far the worst bang for your buck! We had already been staying on the island for a few days and were pleased with our hotel, but wanted to see what other sights the island had to offer. We saw the Rocky Resort website and thought it looked lovely. Much to our surprise, we walk into our room thats smelled of musky scents and cobweb infested furniture. The bathroom seemed as if it was not fully finished, it basically was a tiled room where they just put in a pipe w/ a shower head and there was nothing to keep the water from getting all over the bathroom..(No Shower Door/Curtain!!) Last, but not least, we left the room for not even 30min. to grab lunch came back to our fume filled room. Turns out that they were smogging the outside and our bathroom vent brought in all the fumes. No one told us about this and when we told management all he said was that it was only harmful to mosquitos not to us.....ah YEAH RIGHT!! He never offered for a room change, he just told us to leave the doors open it should air out! Now over a hundred dollars a night gets you A LOT in Thailand, even on this resort island. We were already staying at a hotel just north of Rocky's for the same price and it was much much more luxurious, accommodating, and clean. Please do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or your money on this poor excuse for a resort.

We were absolutely blown away staying at Rocky's. We came to Thailand for 10 days and stayed 7 of those at Rocky's in a Jr. Suite Beachfront. When we booked, we already had high expectations based on the testimonials on the hotel website and the photos, but our expectations were exceeded when we got there. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spotless, and the bathrooms were gorgeous. The staff, all of them, were very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was the best we had, better than some of the 'nicer' restaurants advertised around the island. And the resort had a wonderful, tranquil ambience. We highly recommend Rocky's to all our friends and would definitely go back.
