we went to australia and tahiti on our honeymoon for two weeks. The first day we got there was amazing seeing the over the water bungalos which you should at least try once (but you should try it somewhere else). yes the resort was nice but once you get outside the resort its like any other poverty stricken country (filthy, poverty stricken) we had approx 5 days scheduled here and im wishing we had just stayed in Australia (since it was amazing) Tahitiwas fun for about a day. the food was just ok.. if you wanted to order a lunch which wasnt included in our package it was about 80 USD for two hamburgers, two drinks and some fries. The exchange rate is through the roof. At least in Australia the dollar was even not to mention tons of more stuff to do. The staff was very rude and the guests werent much better. My wife and I are very polite when we visit foreign countries and here you could sense a genuine dislike for Americans and the english culture. For example my wife slipped and feel in the bathroom on an unsigned wet floor and a member of the cleaning staff was right there. They didnt even help her up they just walked out. There isnt really anything to do on the island. the shops are dingy, there is a black pearl store however its way overpriced and they are rude if your not buying. The only thing i can say is that we did enjoy the off road tour but that was it. five days of boredom mostly spent starving because we didnt wanna pay $80.00 for two burgers not to mention the amount of rudeness we experienced. we met one other american couple on the island and that couple had the same experience and couldnt wait to leave. Bottom line its beautiful but dont waste your money or time if your looking for an amazing vacation where they treat you right, go to australia or New Zealand. the people are freindly, theres plenty to do and you wont ever be bored. dont waste your time at a place where they dont wanna be bothered by you. 1 out of 5 stars... dont bother

You won't go wrong by staying here! The tiki huts over the water are awesome. Can't wait to go back. Check out Bloody Mary's. Great food too! By far one of the best vacations I've ever experienced.

WW2 history, location, views, friendliness of the locals. Bora Bora has some of the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen. All the Sofitel staff were friendly and helpful. If this is a honeymoon try the island marriage ceremony. The shark feeding tour is awesome.

just ok

The concierge people were kind of duvious and not friendly, giving wrong time for buses and other stores so we ended up missing them. If you don't speak French, they can kind of ignore you. Despite the meal plans, drinks were expansive. The paid internet(not on site)was expensive. The restraurant excluded certain menus from our packet deal for dinner. But otherwise the island was beautiful and the hotel was nice enough. Overall the we had much better experience at the Moorea Sofitel.
