Waterfront Place Hotel, Morgantown

I stayed at the hotel as part of a larger group there for a meeting in town. At 12:35 a.m., I was awakened by someone trying to get into my room. I thought it was probably a guest that had the wrong room and would soon realize it and move on. However. I became frightened when I heard men talking and more activity outside my room. As I was calling the front desk for assistance, my door opened. Lucklily, I had latched the night latch and the door was able to be opened only a couple of inches. As I was explaining my concern to the front desk person, she quickly told me to "hold on" and I heard her radio to the person outside that he had the wrong room. Then I heard her and a man laughing. After about a ten minute wait, she came back to the phone and said she apologized for the inconvenience, but she had incorrectly written my room number down on another guest's room key... and hung up the phone. This entire episode was ridiculous. I had the privacy message on which was displayed on the outside of my door. If the staff were in any way competent, the security person trying to force his way into my room should have seen that and realized the room was occupied. The next morning, I rang the front desk and spoke with the same front desk person. I ask her to send a bellman to my room and to have the valet bring my car around. I waited 15 minutes and no one came to my room. I had an early meeting to attend, and had to go so I carried my luggage down to the lobby to check out. As I was checking out, I mentioned that a bellman did not come to my room as requested, and the front desk person said that they were busy. It was very early, 7:15 a.m.) and there was no one else in the lobby at that time. I also noted that my car was not out front. I inquired at the valet stand and the valet had not even went to get my car. I had to wait another ten minutes or so for him to retrieve my car. I was not offered any type of discount or much of an apology for these mishaps and terrible customer service. I would not stay there again.

Stayed there over one night. A little pricey but a very nice place. The restaraunt is on the pricey side too. Staff was very nice. Nice pool. Be careful, have to pay to park in garage next door for additional $6/day. Would recommend to others.

We have had wonderful stays at this hotel about 1 1/2 years apart and plan another one next month. The rooms were beautiful, the beds very comfotable and the room service was very good. The pool and spa are lovely. Best place I have stayed in Morgantown, returning year after year to visit family in the area.

Last August, I made a reservation to stay at the Waterfront Hotel as part of the Council for Exceptional Children's annual conference. Imagine my shock, that without ANY notice, our whole group had been moved to other accomodations in the area, some as many as 20 miles away from the conference site, due to the installation of a new President of WVU and their need to clear a block of rooms. While two other groups were able to stay as scheduled (and, of course, we weren't cancelled for the daily conferences) it is obvious to me that the educators of children with handicaps are not as much of a priority as a soccer team or the Dept. of Highways.

I recently stayed at the Waterfront Place Hotel. My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights. They had a bike cycling group there at the same time as our stay. I must say they were alot of FUN. I was talking with a lady that was with them she said she was running the show. She was telling my boyfriend and I how messed up things where with the head staff. She also said if it wasn't for the "little" people that worked in the hotel she would have never got things done that she needed to. I felt so bad for her. She looked really stressed. So that same afternoon I had passed a lady in a hot pink jean jacket on the 2nd floor I was on my way to the spa this lady did not once look my way. Later on after my awesome day at the spa I passed the same lady still no hello how are you nothing. I look at her name tag and I see that she in the General Manager of the hotel. Not very friendly at all. The front desk were very helpful Toni and Ken was always there to help with what I needed.The concierge of the hotel I think her name was Natosha also called and got flowers for my boyfriend and had them in the room for me when I got to the hotel. She also called the spa and got me right in. Very sweet young lady. So I guess not all of the staff taked after the "head" people. THAT'S A GOOD THING

The Check In person was very quick and curtious, the Rooms were clean and very comfortable, the Bell Captian helped us with transportation and was suggestive were to eat.

The hotel is impressive, especially for the money, but you'll need to add at least $20.00 per night for taxes and parking. The lounge is "smoking" and the spa service are "pricey" ($50 for a pedicure). They don't acknowledge "special occassions" so save the comment. The concierge lounge is closed on weekends. Overall, the experience was very good - great compared to other hotels in that area.

Compared to other hotels in Morgantown, this place is wonderful - very clean, good service, close to campus, but not in the middle of all the downtown mayhem

We have stayed at this hotel for a family reunion as well as some short visits. The hotel is clean; the staff are very helpful, and the amenities are wonderful. They have a great restaurant with an excellent breakfast buffet, and the prices are very reasonable. The riverwalk is a nice touch; we enjoyed walking along the path, and some family members rented bikes to take longer tours. Because you most likely will have to park in the garage, it is a bit inconvenient for handicapped visitors. Valet parking is available, though.

I stayed at this Radisson for two weeks last summer, while working at the university. There was no question in my mind that I would go back to the Radisson this summer, again for two weeks. The hotel is within walking distance to the university. Across the courtyard from the hotel in the university's visitor center. The hotel overlooks the river - a great view. There is a pedestrian path along the river for a refreshing and relaxing walk. A day-long music festival was held along the path last summer. The staff were very helpful, the room clean. A great overall experience. Without reservation, I recommend this place.
