Bad experience...poor customer service

I stayed at the hotel as part of a larger group there for a meeting in town. At 12:35 a.m., I was awakened by someone trying to get into my room. I thought it was probably a guest that had the wrong room and would soon realize it and move on. However. I became frightened when I heard men talking and more activity outside my room. As I was calling the front desk for assistance, my door opened. Lucklily, I had latched the night latch and the door was able to be opened only a couple of inches. As I was explaining my concern to the front desk person, she quickly told me to "hold on" and I heard her radio to the person outside that he had the wrong room. Then I heard her and a man laughing. After about a ten minute wait, she came back to the phone and said she apologized for the inconvenience, but she had incorrectly written my room number down on another guest's room key... and hung up the phone. This entire episode was ridiculous. I had the privacy message on which was displayed on the outside of my door. If the staff were in any way competent, the security person trying to force his way into my room should have seen that and realized the room was occupied. The next morning, I rang the front desk and spoke with the same front desk person. I ask her to send a bellman to my room and to have the valet bring my car around. I waited 15 minutes and no one came to my room. I had an early meeting to attend, and had to go so I carried my luggage down to the lobby to check out. As I was checking out, I mentioned that a bellman did not come to my room as requested, and the front desk person said that they were busy. It was very early, 7:15 a.m.) and there was no one else in the lobby at that time. I also noted that my car was not out front. I inquired at the valet stand and the valet had not even went to get my car. I had to wait another ten minutes or so for him to retrieve my car. I was not offered any type of discount or much of an apology for these mishaps and terrible customer service. I would not stay there again.
