Heaven on earth
By ,
The quality of the facility is second to none. The individual employees all reflect such a well mannered and well educated level of service and an uncomprimized focus on making everything just perfect. The door man knew five languages and was proficient in all five. My wife and I experienced 10 days of top level attention and service in all areas. We had a consierge that was right on top of everything and he accomodated us at every request with a smile and total follow through. The food is something to behold in every (5)restaurant within the facility. The entertainmaent was always full of energy and the effort to please was great. We experienced Monday night football on a giant screen on the beach, sailing at any time we pleased, snorkling, an unending supply of drinks, champagne in the room, bubblebaths with rose petels, rose petals scatterred on the sheets in the evening and so much more that I could write for hours. This vacation will forever be the vacation to live up to. John and Karen Soares

secrets capri = paradise!
By ,
my boyfriend and i just returned from a week-long stay at this most beautiful resort.. it is located in playa del carmen, about 35 miles south of cancun, and is nestled away right on the beach.. this was our first experience with all-inclusive, and i tell ya - that is the ONLY way to go!! the food was awesome (5 restaurants with different themes - italian, japanese, buffet, seafood, and continental), and the service there was top-notch.. and we ate and drank all week as much as we wanted.. we love top shelf tequila, and let me tell you - it flows there!! (just gotta ask for what you want) the resort provides tons of entertainment, too.. from a broadway-like production of bob fossee dance, to a hot caribbean show, to a fun comedian and also a magician.. they also showcase karaoke, disco, mariachi, world-class pianists, and on and on... the pool is soooooooooo sweeeeeeet... and the pool-side service makes you feel like a movie star, with your waiter bringing you drinks and lunch.. he honestly waits on you hand and foot.. they offer (dirty) spanish lessons while you lounge in the pool, and have volleyball and water polo games, as well as water aerobics.. there is never a dull moment, unless you decide that is what you want.. there is always an activity you can join.. or you can lay out by the pool and doze.. or go to the full spa, and relax.. the gym is great, too! the room we stayed in was very nice.. we had an ocean-view room, and the view was just spectacular.. the only negative was that the bed was way too hard.. but a lot better than others i have experienced, so that was actually not a huge deal on this trip.. the staff is so nice, and so attentive.. they are very friendly, and helpful.. if you go there, look for fransisco (paco) at the pool, and antonio in the riviera (buffet) restaurant.. they both give great service with huge smiles.. i would fully recommend this beautiful resort to anyone who wants to enjoy being pampered, as well as those who want an exciting fun-packed vacation.. another bonus - it's adults only - no kids!! woo hoooooooooo...

Paradise
By ,
We visited in late June of 2006. We loved, LOVED, loved this place. The service was outstanding~any wish is granted. My husband and I felt like we were treated like royalty. The food for an all inclusive was the best of the best. The atmosphere of the restaurants/waiters/food was perfect. Tip the waitstaff (we heard they make 6$ for the whole entire day) Our room was romantic. We took this trip for our 2nd year anniversary and can't wait to go back to another Secrets resort. We HIGHLY recommend this resort to any couple. The no-children policy was very appreciated. Everything was perfect. We have ZERO cons from this trip, except it had to end. Make sure you do take dress up clothes though, my husband was asked to change into long dress pants. Enjoy!

My Full Review 8-5-06 a must read
By ,
Full Review from a real person Me and my wife (both 28) visited Secrets Capri the first week of August 2006. Rooms: They are great very classy, clean and roomy. Bathroom is also very nice but unless you have a master sweet ($600+ per night) The hot tub is small not big enough for two. The beds, well we had mixed reviews they are VERY firm. My wife liked it; I was a cripple every morning. Quick note if you have a garden view room you will notice the description says nothing about king or 2 doubles. They use there discretion, they are limited to only a few kings so CALL ahead and make sure. Pools: Well they are limited to one pool very large though one side was quite and one side had a bar need I say more. I was on the bar side and had a blast but don't misinterpret this, it is not a parting drinking crowd but still a fun crowd mostly newlyweds! Around the pool they always had something going. Pool Basketball, Volleyball, games, music. The only problem is it CLOSES at 8:00pm not a big deal but it would be nice to take a dip after dinner. Beach: The beach was also great they are out their every morning raking it. It has nice tiki huts for shade. water sports were readily available with limited wait times. Food: They have 5 restaurants all were very good great service and very accommodating. They have a seafood restaurant, Asian restaurant, Italian restaurant, steak restaurant, and a buffet. YOU CAN Drink the water no one there was sick and me and my wife drank the water and had ice in our drinks it was all filtered. But don't get crazy and drink something in town. Shows: They have a nightly theme and show most of the shows were fair out of my 7 nights 5 ok 1 good 1 bad. Primarily local talent. Night life: limited to none at 11pm the place pretty much shuts down except a few nights that have something going on then it is 12:00. so if you are into the late night party this is not for you. Spa: I did not go but my wife did and she said it was one of the best she had ever been to and from everyone I spoke to at the resort they said it is great Activities: Shopping: Well Playa Del Carmen is about 15 minutes down the road great shopping and a lot to look at. Also from their you can take the ferry to Cosumel for $22.00us round trip also great high end shopping and better deals. We rented a car and that worked out great cab fares into town were about $15 each way car rental was $125 for the week so it was note bad and driving was pretty safe their is only one road there and it is like a highway everything is off that. Snorkeling and scuba are both great there. Deep see fishing was is great I went on a 4 hour trip with 5 people on the boat it cost me $90 and I caught 8 fish nothing of real size but lots of action (captain Ricks they are will known down there they have about 15 boats) So if you are looking for a laid back Romantic, relaxing place this is it. This is perfect for the 23 to 35 year age group couples only though there is nothing for the single here except good views of married women, and married men. Tiki huts for shade. Water sports were readily available with limited wait times. Spa: I did not go but my wife did and she said it was one of the best hot stone messages she had ever had, and from everyone i spoke to at the resort they said it is great So if you are looking for a laid back Romantic, relaxing place this is it. This is perfect for the 23 to 35 year age group couples only though their is nothing for the single here except good views newly weds. Me and my wife would definitely go back.

Beautiful but don't drink the water
By ,
My husband and I arrived on July 12, 2006 expecting to depart on July 19. The hotel, service and luxurious accommodations dazzled us for 3 days. On day 4, I came down with what can only be described as Montazuma's revenge. Because of the severity of my illness, we we had no choice but to leave on day 5. Everything good that you've heard about this resort is true and more! Since I can't pinpoint what made me sick, I can only tell you what kinds of things to avoid:beware of food served outdoors, fruit, seafood (yes-even the sushi) and water poured from silver carafes. Stick only with bottled water - no matter what. I've never been so violently ill in my life but am depressed that we had to leave such a gorgeous place so soon.

Would go again in a heartbeat!
By ,
Beautiful property, immaculate rooms and common areas. Extremely friendly and helpful staff - everything you need or want is taken care of right away. Food was great, drinks were great. Pool is excellent. No bugs, in rooms or out (the lizards probably helped with that!). Very little hurricane damage still evident in surrounding areas, property itself in top-notch condition. Everyone spoke enough English to make it easy to communicate, but it would be helpful to know some basic Spanish. Perfect for a luxury getaway, romantic trip for two, honeymoon (there were TONS of honeymooners there!). Also lots of groups of friends, saw 1 wedding by the pool. Highly recommend, would love to go back. If you're looking for something close to town where you can walk to shopping, this is not your place. If you just want a peaceful and relaxing getaway where you'll be totally pampered, you've found the perfect spot.

A Honeymoon Paradise
By ,
What a PARADISE, my husband I went to Secrets Capri for our Honeymoon - September 2005. We have never been to resort before, and were so thrilled that we had the opportunity to stay at SECRETS CAPRI!!! From service, to the food, to the elegance of the resort - we loved it all. For all those couples definately recommend Secrets!

Highly Recommended

What more can I say that has not been said. Staff is the nicest I have ever encountered and i go away a lot for business and pleasure. They couldnt do enough for you, were always smiling. This is all inclusive but please tip a bit. these people make little money. a buck or two will light up their smiles even more and make you feel better too. facilities were sparkling. they clean 24/7. you could eat off the floors. no kids. hooray. mostly couples. distribution i would say is 20% in their 20's, 40% in their 30's, 40% in their 40's and 20% over 50. pool is fantastic with swim up bar. clean and big. beach is clean with comfortable chairs and huts. its private so no one bugs you. liquor is top shelf and all you want. Food? eat anywhere you want when you want. i gained 7 lbs. activities? if you want they are there if you dont no one forces you. entertainment? a few bars with singers, bands, a disco, outside sax player, very romantic. one night is a carbbean show, another a commedian. its not a big resort compared to others so its not hopping but its what it is-- a resort cateriing to couples as a romantic getaway. no for some negatives, well not negatives but some suggestions. 1 food is very good not great as some say. desserts are horrible. but on a scale of 1-10 i would give food an 8. 2 no mexican restaurant. how can you go to mexico and not have real mexican food? i would suggest they do away with say the italian restaurant and go mexican. 3 concierge. not totally helpful. i found some of the regular workers more helpful. whats odd is that i found out 2 of the concierge people i dealt with werent mexican. the mexicans were great!!!!! from the chambermaid to the waiters. 4 distance to airport is almost an hour. 5 surroundings. they are a dump. poverty and very very ugly. the resort is paradise but the surrounding area is depressed. typical though. 6 airport experience. the airport is crowded and a nightmare on the return. on that end one word of warning. once you get off the plane you are besieged by what looks like an army of people who try and trick you into thinking they are from your pick up service. they grab your bags and you almost have to fight them off. then they hit you with timeshare selling literally 1 minute off the plane. if you use an agent ask them exactly what you need to do when you get off the plane and who you look for. if not you could be taken. but overall i would say it was a great vacation and i would highly recommend it.

Best dining ever!
By ,
Been all over Mexico, always all-inclusive,and this was the best food we ever had. Every meal was excellent, great choices, and no limits or reservations needed! The pool bar tenders would ignore you if you did'nt tip.( it's all-inclusive,,,who has cash in thier swim suit! )90 % of the pool and beach waiters were great. Nice sandy beach, cloudy water, the bottom was clay like.
