not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/09
This place is over priced. You have to pay for the kids shows at $3 each for 20 mins. The room service is ok but the food is horrible. Also, the are almost 3 miles from Disneyland and the ART is unreliable and does not run every 20 mins., as the front desk will tell you. The bedding is not as comfortable as they describe, and if you have to use the sofabed I hope you have a good back doctor.

Stayed once and plan to again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/27/08
Stayed at the Garden Grove location in late 2006 and plan to again in May/08 - found staff to be very helpful and accomodating, the buffet was filling and nutritious and the room was plenty big enough for two adult women to share. Liked that the hotel was a short distance from Disneyland - shuttles were convenient and inexpensive. Would recommended it to anyone. Was also very close to other restaurants, shops if too pooped out to do Disney that day. Big surprise - the sofa-bed was comfy!

Big Room, Big Breakfast
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/17/08
We booked this hotel at last minute; it was the only available one in the area at the time. We had no clue what to expect, it was a little far from Disneyland and a little pricey. Then we got there and it was well worth the price. The room was big with full kitchen (refrigerator, stove, sink, and microwave), four person table, living room with pull out sofa bed, separate bedroom with big bath. The décor was nice, swimming pool with hot tub, free WiFi, and best of all full breakfast buffets, from dry cereal with milk to custom omelets and burritos, very good. We plan to stay here again. Good value.

Best Hotel Around Anaheim
By BRIAN PIERCE, 01/02/08
We all love this hotel & in 5 stays fron 3-7 nights, we have never been disappointed. Staff is friendly & attentive to your requests. Rooms are always clean and fresh. Breakfast is great; especially for large families, ours is 5 and the kids love the make your own waffles. I would reccomend this place to anyone. Also, there is free internet & no fee to park.

Nice Place for the Family
By Rip Stylier, 10/09/06
Nice little place close to Disney for the family. Breakfast is included which is nice. The Residence Happy Hour was dissappointing, but everyone is there for Disney anyway, it doesn't matter that much. Free internet connection from the land line, helped Dad stay up to date with the office. Nice Place.

BROKEN ELEVATORS FOR THREE DAYS AND MORE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/06
WE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL BEFORE AND HAD A PRETTY GOOD EXPERIENCE, THAT WAS IN NOV 2004. WHEN WE DECIDED TO GO TO DISNEYLAND AGAIN, I BOOKED THE RESERVATIONS WELL IN ADVANCE....I ASKED FOR THE SAME ROOM. I WAS TOLD BY JOCCELYN, RESERVATION CLERK THAT SHE WOULD BLOCK IT BUT CALL BACK ONCE A WEEK BEFORE ARRIVAL. I DID AS SHE SAID, SPOKE TO KATHY ( CATHY) MARCIA AND EVEN CALLED THE DAY BEFORE AND THEY SAID IT WAS BLOCKED, NO PROBLEM. THE REASON I MENTION THIS IS I SPOKE TO SEVERAL PEOPLE. WHEN WE ARRIVED, THEY GAVE US ANOTHER ROOM. WHEN I EXPLAINED TO THE DESK CLERK ABOUT IT, SHE SAID THAT ROOM HAS BEEN OCCUPIED FOR A WEEK, WELL ALL THE OTHER DESK CLERKS THAT LOOK UP THE INFORMATION ON THE COMPUTER SAID IT WAS BLOCKED. SHE GOT AN ATTITUDE ABOUT IT AND ASKED WHY WE WANTED THAT ROOM SO BADLY. I SAID BECAUSE WE LIKED IT.NO APOLOGIES!!!!!! OK, SO WE HAD TO STAY IN ANOTHER ROOM, IT WAS FINE. THEY CLAIM IT IS A NON SMOKING HOTEL, WHEN WE WERE WALKING DOWN THE HALL, YOU COULD SMELL CIG SMOKE ALOT. THANKFULLY IT WAS NOT NOTICEABLE IN OUR ROOM. NOW, THE BIGGEST HASSLE....ELEVATORS WERE BROKE FOR THE THREE DAYS, WE AND OTHER GUESTS HAD TO TAKE THE SERVICE ELEVATOR, LOCATED IN AN AREA THAT IS INCONVIENIENT. THEY CHARGE FOR A SHUTTLE NOW, 3.00 PER PERSON. IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN THREE PEOPLE, DRIVE YOUR CAR AND PARK AT DISNEYLAND. IT IS FASTER!!!!! THE BREAKFAST WAS FINE. THE POOL IS OK, NOT ENOUGH TOWELS, SO WE HAD TO USE THE ONES IN OUR ROOM AND THEN CALL AND ASK FOR MORE. THE ROOM WAS FAIRLY QUIET. DID HAVE HOT WATER FOR THE SHOWERS. THE BED WAS NICE. LOUZY COMMUNICATION FROM SERVICE DESK CLERKS. OH, ONE MORE THING, IF YOU GET THERE TOO LATE AT NIGHT, THEY HAVE YOU PARK REALLY REALLY FAR AWAY!!!!! SO PREPARE TO WALK FAR AND HOPE YOU GET A CART. THEY DON'T HAVE VERY MANY. I THINK NEXT TIME I WILL STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. NOT OVERALL IMPRESSED, IT COSTS 10.00 TO PARK AT DISNEY LAND, THEY CHARGE 3.00 BUCKS A PERSON. SO, DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU STAY HERE.

Ahh... are we at a Marriott?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/06
We made a trip to Disneyland. We Love many of the other Marriott Residence Inns and have made a point to stay at quite a few. We have a large family and the kitchens are perfect for us as well as the breakfasts they offer. This location offers a shuttle stop right out front (provided by the city) children are free and adults are $3.00. Fantastic!! Perfect for a family carrying in kids that have had a long day of fun. The shuttle was the best part. The service there was disjointed, the breakfests were a disorganized and not a reason to get up early, the pool was cold, the hot tub was warm at best.We had a very strange experiance and complaints fell on deaf ears. The last day of our 4 day adventure we got calls back from management who did listen and were very nice.Would we stay again? Maybe. We Love Residence Inns but this is the 1st out of 6 that have us wondering Are we really at a Marriott? The others have us blown away!!!I would give value a much better rating if the service was better.

Worst Residence Inn
By Daniel, 05/31/06
Very disappointed this is considered a Residence Inn. Service, breakfast, host hour and convenience are not adequate for this Residence Inn and their guests. It's like it is ran by a very conservative family. Rooms are cramped and location is not convenient for business travelers. However, excellent price and cleanliness.

Lots of space in room
By AmyH, 04/10/06
This hotel was absolutely fabulous for a family stay. We had a 2 bdrm kids' suite which had a separate room with bunk beds for the kids. The hotel had a wonderful breakfast bar for free and each room had a full kitchen. Wonderful experience.

love it..family suites and so close to D-land!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/05
the Residence Inn in Garden Grove is only about a mile from Disneyland and is considered part of the "Anaheim" Disneyland Resort Area, I believe. (or it should be) Their rooms are made for long-term stay so they have the convenience of a full kitchen, living room area with a full-size sofabed and the bedroom(s) and bathroom(s). The special Family "kids" suites are 2-bedroom, 2 bath with kitchen and living room and then one bedroom has a King bed and the other room has twin bunk beds and is especially decorated for children. They serve a complimentary full breakfast each morning in their gatehouse and have a special kids theater right off the lobby area which feature childrens movies. They also have a great pool area with BBQs available to use. It was so nice, we could take a break in the afternoon from Disneyland, come back for a quick refreshing dip in the pool (or nap) and then go back easily for the nightly fireworks shows and display. Yahoo!!!
