Don't Stay There!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/09
We tried three rooms over a two night stay. All rooms hot. Inland room reminded us of a Travel Lodge with a view of a main road. Second room had a communal terrace so you couldn't open the window for any fresh air and any guests who went on to the terrace could look into our room. In the third room we were kept awake until 4am by the drinkers on the hotel bar's terrace. We complained twice with no result. We were supposed to stay for three nights but gave up and checked out after the second night. If you like to actually sleep in a hotel don't go to the Seattle. Location also very down market.

Not for a good night sleep!
By Wendy B, 6/23/08
Quirky decor, rooms clean and comfortable with all the amenities. With a "communal" deck outside you cannot keep the curtains open in order to have the window open and enjoy the fresh sea air. Because its on the marina and in a mall full of outdoor restaurants its very very noisy until 2-am every night...travelers beware. Bartender in the B&W bar made two cocktails wrong but still put them on the bill. I tried to tell them the proper way but got no where. Its a fun bar but the staff needs to know what is what. Cafe Paradiso the hotel restaurant seemed so promising. The staff were delightful but the food was hit or miss. I had the fish of the day, lemon sole and it tasted weeks old, mushy and tasteless. My friends steak and tuna were blue just as they asked which was most pleasing, however the chips were soggy. The cooked breakfast was awful, seemed to be cooked by someone with a hangover or who reheated left overs. Its such a shame as it doesn't take much to get it right! The over all impression is that no one is running the place but with a bit of attention to the details and training much could be improved. WBP

Upset Bride
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/20/08
I booked my wedding two years ago and they write to me weeks before the event to let me know they're planning a major refurbishment during my wedding. They are trying to get out of this by offering me an alternative which is totally unsuitable and a far far cry from the wedding of my dreams. The management team are men and have no idea of the consequences this has on a bride so close to the most special day of her life. They have not considered anyone here apart from themselves. BRIDES, BE WARNED - THEY ARE UNDERHAND AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR SPECIAL DAY. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

We didn't want to leave!
By rachel, 3/1/06
Having recently spent the weekend at the alias seattle hotel i felt compelled to write a review and share my feelings about this hotel which are in stark contrast to some of the other reviews i've just read! The alias seattle is in a beautiful location on the marina which is a self sufficient complex of its own consisting of many choices of restaurants, several good pubs, a casino, cinema, shops etc.You are however only a very short drive or bus journey from brighton pier and the main shopping areas. I highly recommend paying a little bit extra for a sea facing hotel room as the view is fantastic and there is nothing better than waking up and looking out at sea.The bedrooms are very comfortable, clean and contemporary. I found the service in this hotel to be of an extremely high standard from the very friendly and helpful reception staff to the bartenders in the hotels hidden cocktail bar!I must also recommend the hotels own restaurant the cafe paradiso which is also open to the public. The restaurant has a wide selection of fresh seafood and pasta dishes - the king prawns are to die for! What made this restaurant a cut above the rest was not only the quality of the food but the standard of the waiter service. They were very smart, friendly and attentive to our needs. In summary i can't stress enough what a fantastic weekend me and my partner had at the alias seattle and i wouldnt hesitate to recommend it either for a business trip or for pleasure!

Double hotel rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/6/04
The rooms are very small and almost basic. My room looked like something I would expect to see on the shop floor in Ikea. No wardrobe, just 2 plastic coat hangers hanging off some plastic rail. To me this is not "trendy" but cheap and nasty. Bathrooms were lovely, nice white fluffy towels but products not so lovely. The rest of the hotel appeared quite "cool", however, the throw over the bed was like something you would find on your Granny's bed. I do not think this room was worth 115 per night.

We want to come back for more!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/04
This hotel has such a laid back attitude and was extremely relaxing. Catering for various age groups and was very modern. The staff couldn't be more helpful and curtess towards us. I loved it so much that I told some friends and now they would like to try the hotel, so on December the 11th (hopefully) me and my partner will be returning with our friends for a pre-christmas stay over. My partner and I stay in brighton quite a bit and now that we have used this hotel we feel that there would be no place that we would rather stay than there. Thumbs up all around.

Mid-May weekend
By Olivia, 5/17/04
If you go to the Seattle make sure you get a room with your own private balcony. Many of the sea view rooms open out on to a communal balcony so you cannot draw your curtains at all. No nets provided. If you are over 6 foot tall, it is almost impossible to sit on the loo and to put in the bath plug you need to be a gymnast! The staff are young and friendly and I mistook several as guests as their uniform is so low profile. The Black and White cocktail bar serves a good international selection although the menus were starting to look tatty and should be changed regularly. No dressing gowns or body lotion provided. Free parking in nearby multistorey much appreciated. Food in Cafe Pacificio was average.
