Very poor service
By Karen, 7/13/06
Nice rooms, very comfortable & clean. Water taxis available every 10-20 min to take you to Venice. Very convenient. We were traveling with children & requested 2 rooms adjoining or next to each other. We were not accomodated. Our children were in another wing of the hotel. There were empty rooms next door but the staff was unwilling to re-assign our room. Our friends needed 2 twin beds for their boys. The staff was unwilling to seperate the beds, so the parents did it. We paid for our rooms through a travel agent weeks ahead of time. When we checked-out the staff claimed there was still $ owed, which was not the case. Disappointing stay; will not go back.

A True Venetian Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/20/07
This hotel was magnificent. The rooms were immaculate and well decorated, the lobby was breathtaking and traditional, and the views from the rooms were wonderful, even if you weren't facing the sea. Everything about this hotel was luxurious. The only trouble I had with it was its location. It is on its own island, which gives a great feeling of seclusion and privacy, but it can be a pain getting to and from the city. But, there is a shuttle boat that goes every 15 minutes.

Arrogance & Incompetance
By Cindy, 7/11/06
June 2006. The service is very poor. This is a beautiful property that is poorly run. There are other 5 star hotels in Venice that fit the ambiance of Venice and lack the arrogance and incompetence of the San Clemente staff. It doesnt have to be this way, stayed great hotels in Rome and Lake Como. The common theme is great service combined with a great property. It is clear the San Clemente is catering to the business/event crowd. If you are traveling with a family, there are much better experiences at this price range. Stay away! This place is not worth the money.

Amazing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/07
I went to the San Cleemente palace hotel for 5 days and it was amazing! There was even a heated towel rack! There was a perfect veiw of the water. I could traval to venice by quick boat. ( its on its own litlle island but dont worry its not far at all.) There was loads to do. I would efinately recomend this room to any body. By the way I havent really gone there but I did alot of reaserch on it for a school project. WE had to plan a trip as if we had a million dollors. Ah woom I kiddin I did absolutely no reaserch and am just messin with ya. HA.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/25/10
San Clemente was an amazing Hotel and Spa. This is the place for anyone looking for a vacation destination that is close enough to the city yet peaceful to relax in the evening. The Rooms, Gardens are Views are breathtaking. The staff are very friendly , professional and helpful . This is a great place to stay and would recommend it highly to people who are thinking about Wedding and Honeymoon location.

Absolute worth the extra effort!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/8/05
We stayed at the San Clemente in October of 2005 and had a fabulous time. The staff are friendly and helpful and the ambience and decor are elegant and refined. We especially liked that the hotel was quiet and very peaceful. There was definitely a feeling of "getting away from it all" and if we wanted to join the throngs of people at St. Marks Square, it was only a short and pleasant boat ride away. We are definitely planning on going back for a longer stay next time.

Truly a Magical Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/3/10
For people who travel a lot, and stay in beautiful places, this hotel will not disappoint. We phoned for a last minute availability, asking for two adjoining rooms. We were given corner rooms over looking the water toward St. Mark's Square. It pays to be nice to the staff when booking the room and checking in -- it is also worth going up a grade in room rates. The staff were very responsive. The pool and grounds are spacious and rare in Venice and proved fantastic for our 8 year old son who needed to run around. He found playmates at the pool and was entertained for 4 days. The Church and meeting facility would be perfect for large gatherings.

So Magnificent, it's surreal!
By garym, 5/25/08
After bustling around the touristy streets of Venice or Murano, the feeling of returning to the serene property of the San Clemente Palace is simply, "Aaahh!" Quiet, immaculate, exquisite... there aren't enough words to describe it! Don't be put off at the thought of having to shuttle to and from Venice by boat. It departs often and the trip quickly puts you in the heart of it all. The guest rooms are among the largest and cleanest that I've encountered in Italy (For what it's worth, I'm a frequent traveler to Italy). The service is nothing short of perfect! It's everything you'd expect in a luxury hotel, including as you might also expect, the high luxury price... especially today with the lousy USD/EU exchange rate. I've researched this and other hotels before coming to Venice, and I don't think the literature made it truly clear enough that this hotel is situated on it's own private island! There's an ancient church/museum on property and many meandering paths throughout the island that lead to scenic views of the surrounding waters. As an aside, I'd like to add that the coffee served here is absolute heaven!! -The continental breakfast too! If I really need to find a problem, it would be the shower water which fluctuates between scalding hot and cold every 15 seconds. Opt to take a luxurious oversized bath instead. Buon viaggio!
