Holiday Inn Exp Stes Barstow, Barstow

I love EVERYTHING about this hotel. From the employees at the customer service desk, to the employees that oversee the breakfast room, to the comfortable beds, spacious rooms, NICE jacuzzi suites, the soft towels and sheets provided, to the warm cookies, and juice bar available 24 hours per day, this hotel is and always will be my favorite hotel to stay at. My job requires me to travel quite a bit and I have yet to find another hotel that compares to this one. They provide 24 hour access to the pool, jacuzzi, and fitness rooms, provide homemade cookies, juice, tea, coffee, and fruit, 24 hours a day for hotel guests, their breakfast buffet is outstanding. Biscuits and gravy, sausage AND bacon, oatmeal, scrambled eggs (or somedays little mini cheese omelets), their signature hot cinnamon rolls, pastries and muffins, pancake machine, french toast (it cooks in the toaster), 3 kinds of juice, coffee, hot or iced tea, hot cocoa, yogurt, boiled eggs, a nice selection of toast, english muffins, and bagels. Everyone can find something that will satisfy them and help start their day. The only thing I do not like is that it is hot and dusty there. But that is out of their control so I can't hold that against them. :0)

I travel alot for extended periods on average of 28 days at a time, and this is the only place I stay when in Barstow. The staff makes up for any problems you might have and it's close to the nice parts of town. Grand Hyatt it's not, but I'll take every time.

Don't listen to the negative rating. This place is a pleasure to have in the middle of the desert. Service is superb! Unlimited juice, coffee, tea and cookies. If you are concerned about the price, believe me, you are getting your money's worth

If you have to stay in Barstow, this is the place to stay. Nice rooms, helpful staff, good breakfast, gas, food and traveler shopping nearby. I would stay here again.

I disagree with some of the reviews... The place was a great stay for me and my family. I enjoyed the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. Great location easy to find right off of the 15 freeway. Definately the best place to stay in Barstow.

Had a great stay at this hotel. It seemed very new, and was very clean. The staff was very friendly, and at check-in they give you a package of popcorn that you can cook in the microwave in your room. The rooms also have mini fridges. They also provide high speed internet access for free, and a free breakfast every morning. The breakfast hours were 5AM to 10AM (or it might have been 6AM). The pool was clean and very nice, with plenty of clean towels in a cabinet. For those using an in-car Navigation/GPS unit, or using a web page such as Mapquest, Google Maps, or whatever---be advised that the directions once you get off the freeway are WRONG! The hotel staff are aware of this, as many people tell them that they got lost once they exited the freeway because they were following computer directions. To avoid this, when you exit the freeway, DO NOT TURN RIGHT (when coming from the Highway 58 area). Instead, turn LEFT and go back over the freeway towards the big mall you will see shortly on your right. Just beyond the mall, the hotel will be on your right. If it looks like you're about to head onto a long road in the middle of nowhere, you are in the right place. This hotel is located just at the end of "civilization", but it's not far from the freeway exit at all. Actually, some of the rooms face the freeway so it's not difficult to find as long as you don't make that right turn off the freeway. If you do make the right turn by mistake, you will find yourself in the middle of big trucks as they use this area for fueling, rest stops, etc. Just make a u-turn when you can, and head back the other way. Fast food is all around the hotel---the food court in the mall, or across the street from the mall are Arby's, McDonald's, and all sorts of places. Pizza can also be delivered to your room--just ask the front desk who to call.

the service wasn't great. the room was dirty. the hallways where stained. a strong smell in the room. you can hear trains at night. i wouldn't stay here !!!!

This was a great hotel. Clean and comfortable. Completely disagree with the other rating listed.
