Director of Marketing - Yahoo! Travel
Description:

Reporting to the VP of Marketing for Yahoo!'s Local Markets and Commerce (LMC) Division, this position is responsible for leading strategic development and management of on and offline marketing programs for Yahoo! Travel. The Director of Marketing will supervise internal cross-functional teams and work with Yahoo! corporate marketing group to develop and implement campaigns. Success will be measured by the candidate's ability to generate sustainable traffic and revenue for Yahoo! Travel, generate awareness and trial, while elevating the brand, as well as delivering on aggressive performance and business goals thus driving Yahoo! Travel into the leadership position in the industry. This position will be heavily focused on the knowledge and execution of revenue-driving direct marketing principles.

Required Knowledge:
  • Candidates will have 8+ years in traditional and/or interactive marketing experience, with 3+ years experience developing integrated offline marketing programs and online promotions for consumer products or services
  • 5+ years in performance and direct marketing, including SEM and Affiliate Marketing
  • Demonstrated experience with hands on management of results-driven integrated marketing programs from start to finish
  • Must be extremely detail and deadline-oriented, have an analytical mind, and be able to manage numerous projects at one time
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Undergraduate degree required
Preferred Knowledge:
  • An MBA from a top tier school

Director of UED - Yahoo! Travel
Description:

Help us change the way people use the internet to plan and book their travel! If you are a strong leader, who can think strategically while delivering on the needs of the business, and if you have managed UI organizations before, we want to talk to you! You will be responsible for growing and managing the User Experience and Design group for Yahoo's leading internet Travel site. The group's charter is to define and design the user experience for this site, working closely with Product Management.

Required Knowledge:
  • At least 10 years total experience, with a minimum of 5 years managing a large design team with company-wide impact. Must have managed an organization of at least 5 people with various skills, and must have experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously. Proven track record in delivering world-class products.
  • Design experience: Background in product design, interaction design, Human Factors, HCI, information design, or related field.
  • Vision: proven experience rallying people behind a vision and ability to innovate
  • Quality: Demands and delivers world-class design, has incredible eye for detail
  • Leadership: Must know how to inspire people, motivate and reward them; be able to make tough decisions and address issues in a timely manner; use good judgment to know when to fight a battle and do it well and when to hold back.
  • Scope: Must have experience shipping products for large consumer audiences and be used to working on many products simultaneously
