Hotel Fox's Heidi Room
Copenhagen, Denmark
Twenty-one artists from around the globe came together to individualize the 61 rooms at Copenhagen's Hotel Fox. Graphic designs, Japanese manga, you name it, each room is its own original masterpiece. In room 409, Swiss illustrator Benjamin Güdel opted for kitsch and re-created the story of Heidi, Johanna Spyri's 1880 kids' book about a bright-eyed young orphan living in the Swiss Alps. In addition to his signature drawing, Güdel finishes the look with red gingham bed linens, carved wood furniture, and splotches of log cabin wallpaper.
