    Last year my family of five took a major vacation to Walt Disney World. It took my husband and I (mostly me) the greater part of six months to put the trip together. Then, when I couldn't contain myself any longer, we announced the trip to the kids a mere seven days before our departure.

    They were the longest seven days of my life. My daughters asked me when we were leaving from the minute they got up in the morning until the minute they went to bed at night. The vacation countdown was all they thought about. How could we have made those seven days exciting instead of exhausting?

    In our family, summer vacation is the highlight of every year. When the time finally comes, we're snapping photos morning 'til night, trying to capture those perfect images we'll savor for years to come. Of course, that notion of hundreds of ideal vacation photos turns sour after we get home and realize there are - unfortunately - hundreds of photos to sort, edit and store.

  • Separate-ticket 'Mickey's Halloween Party' Offers Trick-or-Treating In Disneyland Park on 11 Special Nights

    ANAHEIM, Calif,.(July 16, 2012) — The Happiest Place on Earth is about to get spookier as Halloween Time returns to Disneyland Resort this fall with Disney villains, Mickey Mouse and his friends in Halloween costumes and Mickey's Halloween Party, along with a special exhibit from , all part of the fun during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. The season runs from Friday, Sept. 14, through Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31.

    The after-hours Mickey's Halloween Party, a separate-ticket event* which has become an annual highlight of Halloween for trick-or-treating families, will take place in Disneyland Park on 11 special Monday, Tuesday and Friday nights: Sept. 28 and Oct. 2, 5, 9, 12, 15, 19, 23, 26, 29 and 31.
