My husband made a reservation in this hotel 6 months ahead of time for two rooms with two double beds. The clerk gave us confirmation numbers and assured us that everything would be taken care of.
On January 2nd 07 we arrived at the hotel to be to be told that there was a mistake in the reservation and they could not lodge my children at the hotel because one of the reservations was for 2-1-07 and the other one was for 1-1-07.
We expressed our displeasure and informed the mgr. that he was penalizing us for a mistake his staff had made. The manager thinking I did not speak Spanish, told one of his employees to book us at the Sheraton because he did not want to deal with us.
We all reside in California, we planned the stay in Old San Juan with the idea that we would stay in a classier place than the Sheraton, which as far as I am concerned is one of the worst hotels my family has ever stayed. We don�t like noisy casinos, or cookie cutter hotels. That is the reason we made our reservations at the Milano, ahead of time.
The behavior of the Milano Hotel Management was callous at best and irresponsible, prejudiced and arrogant at worst.
I personally think the Milano hotel management discriminated against my family and I will let every Puerto Rican from California know what happened to us at the Hotel Milano in Old San Juan.
