Comfortable Hotel in Xcellent Location

Hotel Milano is perfectly located on Calle Fortaleza near shops, historic sites, and restaurants in old San Juan. Hotel staff are helpful and the hotel lobby has an air of “old world” charm.
The 3rd floor room was comfortable and at the back of the building-away from the street noise. When the room air conditioner was running, it was not loud but cranky enough to interfere with sleep. The room had a musty smell even with the A/C running.
The rooftop restaurant was not open and had been closed for several months. However, it was open every morning for a continental breakfast at a cost of $5 per person/per day. A small expense for a filling breakfast that could not be beat at any nearby cafe. The rooftop is a great place to plan a day in San Juan. The hotel cost for a 2-day stay was not expensive.
I recommend the hotel because of its supreme location but be sure to check your room for unusual odors and to ensure the A/C is operating properly. San Juan can become hot even in late April!
