A good hostel
SERVICE was excellent. Reception is open 24 hours so you can check in any time. Rooms are large as are the lockers (it is a hostel after all). Staff is friendly and helpful, and distributes maps of Bratislava. They are also more than willing to point you towards good places and even sometimes show you around, when they finish shift. Hostel serves breakfast free of charge in the morning as well as free coffee/tea, and Beer is available for purchase in the fridge (all quality Slovak beers!) They have TV and PS2 in the lounge also.
CLEANLINESS also scores well. Fresh linens are provided for each bed, and rooms are clean. Bathrooms are kept clean and in good working order. There's an outdoor balcony as well.
LOCATION is good also. It is located on Obchodna (translated: "of commerce") so there are plenty of places to go in the immediate area, no matter your interests. There is shopping, quick eateries, restaurants, bars, a gambling place, and even nightclubs all within walking distance. For those traveling further, the tram stops right outside the hostel. The best Slovak food restaurant is literally a 2 minute walk from the hostel. The old town is close also, within reasonable walking distance. The only downside is that this location, while near many attractions, is far from both the bus and train stations in Bratislava.
VALUE is good. You won't get too much more out of a hostel in general, and for the price they're offering it's very good. The staff really acts as ambassadors for Bratislava and will make sure you enjoy your stay. They'll even teach you some Slovak if you'd like.
