Historic Hotel - Great Beds!

On our way to Portland we met a gentleman on the plane from Dallas who told us he always stays at the Eastland while in town so we tried it too and loved it! It is true that parking is for pay next door, but we did not find that a big problem. We got in later than we planned and had reservations at the Fore Street Restaurant (spectacular!) in 15 minutes when we arrived. They checked us in quickly and had the complimentary car and driver waiting for us as soon as we could go to our room and come back down. The room was quaint with a sink in the entry hall but room was large with comfortable chairs, large clean bath and WONDERFUL bed! I even called later and asked for the make and model of the mattress because it was so comfortable. We were only there one night and didn't eat in the restaurant because we love Becky's for breakfast and the aforementioned Fore Street Restaurant for dinner. But, the staff was very friendly and helpful and everything was clean. It is not your new multi-million dollar chain hotel and we loved the difference!
