Would only stay here if only hotel in Maui

The pictures do not accurately depict the "resort". I have a hard time even calling it a resort. The location is good - on Front street in Lahaina, but that, and a nice lobby, are all this hotel has to offer. It appears to be getting some remodeling, so in its defense, perhaps our room was one of the ones that they did not touch. The room and towels smelled foul - and the staff was not apologetic about that fact. The parking garage also smelled like sewage, and even had stagnant water and debris in nearly every spot. The bathrooms near the pool were gross, and the pool and beach were not really useable - they are both too small to really walk around in, sit around, or enjoy in any way. We also stayed in Kapalua and found that and Kaanapali better places for nightlife and families and activities during the day - you can always drive to Lahaina for dinner instead, which we preferred. I would never stay at this hotel again, unless you never even plan to be in your room.
