We will not be going back
Don't be fooled by the pictures! If you're trading into here as a Marriott timeshare owner - you will be disappointed.
Overall we'd rate the place as somewhat below average.
What was Good:
Transportation to the strip runs 12 noon to 12:15AM. A single shuttle (free but don't be a cheapskate and do tip the driver) runs continuously throught the period. The trip is about 15 minutes, so if you just miss the shuttle, the wait is approx 30 minutes. You could take public transportation directly across the street (15$ for a 3 day pass or 7$ for a one day)
The pool area is nice and we were able to find shade and lounges throughout the day. The pool was clean and inviting, but the hot tubs were cloudy and raunchy. Sundry store, breakfast lounge (till 11) and bar/grill next to the pool. Reasonable prices.
What was lacking:
The maintenance of the common areas, except of couse the check in area, was terrible. The hall carpets are past their lifespan and dirty, stained and unraveling at the seams. The elevators look like dingy freight elevators. The halls could use some fresh paint - and maybe some color as all you'll see is a single color throught the buildings and unit (including the same color (yellow/gold) on the ceilings) - makes you feel cramped.
The units are small...even the 2 BR units. Same issues with the paint and carpet as the common areas. The kitchen is extremely small (room for one) so you'll be disappointed if you're there to feed a family of 6-8 and are expecting to enjoy the comforts of home. The kitchen is so small there isn't even a draw for the silverware. If you're there to eat out it won't bother you. In our unit if you opened the dishwasher, it crashed forward onto the floor as it wasn't screwed to the cabinets or countertop - just another indication of the lack of maintenance.
The bedding was poor. Pillows were flat, hard and resembled pressed cardboard. The linens smelled as if they were left in the washing machine overnight and then someone remembered to dry them after two days.
If you like pumice stone for soap, you're in luck, otherwise bring your own bath soap. We also didn't care much for the orange smelling facial soap.
Personnel. We've experienced both the good, and those who couldn't care less that you're there on your hard earned vacation. You know... the ones that should be working in a different industry.
Grocery Store is across the street and walkable. The shuttle stops there only Monday between 11-12 noon. Liquor / beer is sold at the grocery store.
Our philosophy is that our vacation is what we make of it. So rather than letting any of the bad bother us, we enjoyed ourselves.......but we won't be doing it here again.
