Had booked a tee time, the resort offers discounts at the National and Callaway courses. Well my party booked a tee time at the National, we got in the cab and had forgotten the course name. So we went back inside the Resort for a reminder of the name of the course (there are only two which discounts are offered through the resort). The Night Auditor outright didn't even know the courses which the hotel offered discounts at, and said he WOULDN'T help us. The security guard overheard the question and helped us out. But who cares about the 50% discount when the cab ride to the course costs more than the discount would cover? Would have been nice if the concierge informed us of this when we first inquired about a discount the day prior.
The hotel also offers some shuttle services to the airport and other locations that need to be booked 24 hours ahead of time, something else the concierge should have let us know about..
It was interesting. The front desk service (check in and out) was good, the people in the restaurant were GREAT, housekeeping was prompt as well. But the room itself was unimpressive. Some metal sheeting that should have been painted and plastered was just raised enough on the balcony floor to do some serious damage to someone's foot. Carpeting in the room was cheaply done and dirty, Some of the light switch locations were very un-intuitive. Bathroom light was on the outside opposite wall, extra pillows and blankets were found on the last day of our stay in a drawer beneath the Television, instead of one of the closets. It was like the Winchester house or something.
Far enough away from the strip, and anything else to make cab ride expenses add up quickly, If you stay here, you should consider renting a car.
For a place that is trying to sell me a timeshare, with the state of the economy, and considering this is the slow season, sure didn't seem interested in tantalizing me to return. This is Vegas and I went knowing not to expect a whole lot, but even with this in mind I found myself disappointed.
