Our Most Memorable California Experience

My wife and I had were traveling from Los Angeles to San Francisco and we decided to cut the trip in pieces and stay at a couple nice looking, but not too expensive, places along the way. We liked the look of the Spyglass on their web site but were more than surprised when we got there... it was much more than we had expected. Our room faced the ocean and had a patio walkout. We spent the entire evening watching the sun go down over the Pacific. Afterwards we went inside and lit the fireplace and stayed in bed to watch the waning colors over the water. We walked out to the edge of the cliff after dark (there is a fence there) and watched the stars and listened to the surf. The bed was the most comfortable of any we slept in on our trip. We went to the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and found the food good and reasonably priced. The breakfast waiter got up on the wrong side of the bed, but he gave us something to laugh about over our eggs. Before we stopped at the Spyglass and after we continued up the coast highway we stayed at fancier, more expensive places, but found the Spyglass to be the place we both said we enjoyed the most and would love to come back to.
