We arrived at 1:00 p.m. on a Friday afternoon and were not allowed to check in until the check in time of 2:00 p.m. We filled out paper work and were told to come back at 2:00 p.m. to pick up the room key. We thought this was odd considering it appeared that no maid was anywhere to be seen cleaning any rooms at the time. We were tired from a long drive and being forced to wait another hour was not the way we wanted our visit to Glenwood start. Come check in time, we get in our room and find an ear wig in one of the beds, under the sheets. We brought this to the attention of the owner the following day and asked that the sheets be changed and the room thoroughly cleaned when the maid made the cleaning rounds. We were told that they don't clean or change sheets until the second day of a stay but the owner stated that she would make sure that the cleaning did happen. The day after our first night stay, we were unable to have the continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. because it was not ready on time and we were required to be somewhere at 8:00 a.m. This was a little upsetting considering they made us wait until check in time before we could even have our room. We returned to our room later that day and found it had not been cleaned or had the sheets changed. Our dirty towels had been taken but not replaced. They made sure the cooler was turned off and all the lights were off as well. The lights we understand but the room was hot when we came back to it. We voiced our frustration again with the room not being cleaned and were told that the maid would come that day and clean the room. After leaving again and coming back later in the evening, our room still had not been cleaned or had the sheets changed. The beds had not even been made. No phone call, no note, no attempt to follow up at all. Later that evening we had to take out our own trash, ask for liners for the trash cans and ice pale as well as clean towels. We understand establishments are looking to cut corners for economic reason but this was completely at the expense of providing decent service in our opinion. We voiced our unhappiness when checking out and were made to wait while the owner called the maid at home. We again attempted to voice our unhappiness the following day by a phone call but was yelled at and finally hung up on. We will never stay at the Frontier Lodge again.
