Yakutat Lodge is a fishing camp. Its not a five star hotel. Ive been there several times over the past 15 yrs. The people who work at the lodge have always been polite and did thier best to take care of any needs we asked about. The rooms at the old lodge are just that old but liveable. new accomadations are being built on the bay and replacements are scheduled from what i understand. The river and ocean guides have always worked hard to get us our fish often working extra hours. Ken and Kip Fanning have always been down to earth and have become friends over the years. I look forward to seeing them in Portland every February. If you plan on going to Yakutat to stay in the rooms I would go someplace else. If you want a world class fishing trip with good people I wont go anywhere else. Rob B.
