Definitely not bad....but definitely not great

The new owners are a couple, Cherylann and Peter. Cherylann takes great pride in making the guests feel welcome, and the saloon that Peter works at is supposedly the oldest saloon in all of California. They play great music and drinks are reasonably priced there. It's the main spot that people hang out at in Coulterville. The rooms are pretty spartan and don't really make sense in arrangement. No phone, no TV (except in a common room), many have no bathroom, but there is an abundance of shared baths. Fresh towels are always available, but don't expect your sheets to be changed while you're there. Although the rooms are clean when you check in, the shared bathrooms don't seem to be cleaned throughout the day. Enjoy the hot water while it's there b/c it'll probably go away before the end of the shower. There is a coffee shop in the hotel, but it isn't open in the mornings, and it doesn't usually have any pastries. However, breakfast is available down the street, just about 20 yards away from the hotel. All in all, I'd stay at the hotel if I was in the area again, but most likely I'll never return to the area.
