My husband and I stayed here in late June 2007, our first visit to Charleston. This was all-in-all a very good experience for us and a very good value for the money.
The rooms are small, but clean, well air-conditioned, freshly painted and tastefully decorated. The only complaint we had with the cleaning staff was that they forgot to refill our TP supply at the end of our stay. There is a really fabulous restaurant immediately next door, 82 Queen, which provides room service (although we didn't try that). The courtyard was beautiful - at 5:00 each day limitless wine, cheese, and crackers are served - I particularly enjoyed the small birds that attended each evening to gather crumbs - some would even take food from your hand. It is a very short walk to both the market area and the historic mansion district and there are a lot of great places to eat nearby.
I'd say that if you don't require a luxurious room, this is the perfect place to stay in Charleston and a really good value.
