WON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE TWICE
My husband and I were going on vacation and wanted a nice Oceanfront hotel w/ Jacuzzi. (RM. 503)What we got was a Jacuzzi that could not be used, because the bath tub liner was peeling. When the tub was filled it looked like a SNOW GLOBE, there were pieces ALL OVER!!!! We called the front desk and they sent maintenance up to take a look. The response we got was that they had refinished the tubs and who ever did it, did not do the job right. They placed us in a (RM 301)king deluxe room for the night and in the morning we would be moved to another room. Next morning, front desk calls and says they are moving us to the 1st floor in a smoking room(RM101). When we booked this vacation we told them that we needed a non-smoking room because I have asthma and we did not want to be on the 1st floor, their response was that they hurricaned out the room, and it was either that or Room 502 but that too had the same problem with the Jacuzzi. Whoever refinished those tubs did a REALLY BAD JOB!!! I told him we paid to use those amenities, and what�s the point of having a Jacuzzi if I can't use it, at that point he told us that he could give us our money back and we could find somewhere else to stay. NOW I was FURIOUS, we drove 12 hours to get there and he acted like he could care less, what kind of customer service is that. To top it all off, that was the manager talking like that, So if the manager acts that way just imagine how the employees act!!! I was FED UP!!! I asked him if I could take a look at the smoking room to see how it was because I had no other choice, THE ROOM WAS FILTHY AND SMELLED SO BAD!!! AT that point My husband who is a travel agent, called his work and booked another hotel "the Courtyard" by Marriott on 2501 Atlantic ave.( WHAT AN AWESOME HOTEL!!!). We received a phone call from the front desk and they asked us if we had made a decision, at that point I told them "WE ARE PACKING AS WE SPEAK", The response I got was "oh ok , my manager came up with another solution and that was to move us to a queen deluxe and upgrade those people to a king deluxe." I told them never mind and to have my credit slip ready so I could get out of there as fast as I could!!! My husband ordered the ROMANCE PACKAGE, We did not enjoy it because it stood in the 1st room, they were not going to credit us for that package, the lady at the front desk said "you can go and get it and take it with you" I told her "NO" I want my money back!! I�m going to lug a dozen of roses and champagne and glasses from one hotel to another?, " I DON'T THINK SO!!" . The manager finally gave me a credit for that package and we were on our way. The first day and a half of my vacation was horrible but after that it was so fantastic because we were no longer in a that motel, and we were staying at a luxurious HOTEL!!! (At least this hotels pool was not in the parking lot, unlike the New castle motel). I almost forgot the bed at the New Castle was hard as a ROCK!! This place is not worth the money they charge, for a little more money you can do SO MUCH BETTER!!!
