a good value gone bad
This hotel had been a good value in previous years but, unfortunately, our experience last weekend put an end to that idea. We had reserved a room during the Memorial Day weekend. When we arrived 2 hours after check in time, the staff still had not cleaned the room - they gave us the key and we walked into a used room with the bed sheets still pulled back, used paper plates on the table, and towels hanging from furniture. We called the front desk which was staffed by only one person. While she assured us that she was working on the problem, we felt compelled to call her back after waiting 10 minutes for her call in a dirty room. Finally, we demanded a discount, which we got. They had also run out of soap and they never did provide any. The coffee pot was also missing and was never put in place despite two requests. In addition, "out of order" signs are posted on various machines and amenities throughtout the hotel. Breakfast has also been cut back - it's now "continental." On the whole, under the new ownership, they are evidently going on the cheap. We won't be back.
