The first thing we saw when we checked into our room were dirty waterstained lampshades, overall the room was in bad need of an update. There are 2 restaurants onsite as well as a pub, the main restaurant was set aside for bus tours,the pub no longer served any food, not even appetizers which had been offered previous years, which left only the Lakeside Cafe open to the "general" guests, with a 45 minute wait for a table, unacceptable! As far as I am concerned the resort is poory managed and is vastly overpriced. I am from Cape Breton and have to wonder why the Inverary is classed as a "resort" It's a bit embarrassing if this is the best Cape Breton has to offer. I think with some money invested in some updates and a vast overhaul of management this place could be something special.
