If You Want To Be Away From It All

This is a pretty spot RIGHT off of Highway 101 north of Santa Barbara. We camped here once when it was a campground, but now they've wheeled in log cabins and tents for more of a resort feel. If you want to get away from it all and just want to hang out, it is nice. Surroundings are nice and you're not far from a campground/beach on the other side of the highway. We never did eat in the restaurant although everything smelled and looked great. As a couple families wanting to spend the weekend in Santa Barbara, this wasn't the best place. We had two young children in our group and the inability to drive up close to your cabin makes it tough. You are required to park quite a long distance from your cabin and when it's completely dark outside, the walk is challenging to say the least. There are bathrooms in the log cabins, but ours was about the size of a motorhome bathroom. They warn you not to use too much water as they will only empty your sewage tank every other day (or else you're charged extra). Our cabin also had a steady ant problem that got only worse over the first two days we were there. They offered us another cabin which we took, although they didn't offer to help us move our stuff over. That doesn't seem like too much to ask considering the reason we had to move. I notice that this place is more expensive now, I'm hoping that means that it's a better experience.
