Just like everyone else, I read the reviews and thought "As if!" but as shocked as I was, everything the people said came true.
We found this hotel on the internet, as we needed a place to stay in New York. Since we flew their from Australia, we wanted cheap accomadation over and done with at the beginning of the holiday.
When we got there, we had had planned a family suite for six, and we were shown a room with 2 double beds, with a toilet and shower IN THE ROOM, and another room the size of a shower holding a single bed.
We asked to be moved. They then gave us two rooms, one with 2 doubles, one with one double. This was fine. Until my son got bed bugs! There was many red rashes all over him, like the chicken pox. Not only that but the shower in my kids room, was unusable as the hoter tap and the cold tap couldnt be put on at the same time. So you either had a cold shower or a boling one. The toilet dripped, the front door DIDNT SHUT PROPERLY, the carpet stank and the beds were very uncomfortable. In the corridor there were lumpy carpet with a hole that i tripped over every time i walked over it. The lift fitted 2 people.
For the second time, we asked to be moved, where in the new room the window wouldnt shut, and the toilet was blocked and wouldnt flush.
All in all, the hotel was awful and we left two days early!
